2017 MLB Season Thread

Yankees are playing pretty well. Their starting rotation was their biggest weakness, but that seems to be working itself out.

Nice to see Toronto finally got a win, lol
 
Pirates OF Starling Marte suspended for 80 games after testing positive for steroids.

Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Starling Marte has been suspended 80 games by Major League Baseball after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance, it was announced Tuesday.

Marte tested positive for nandrolone, which violated MLB's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. The suspension is effective immediately, and Marte is eligible to return in mid-July.

Yeah, that happened while they had an off day here in Colorado. This can't be good for a team that is struggling. The Rockies swept the Giants over the weekend, including an 8-0 pasting yesterday.
 
Who would have thought that 20 games into the season, the Rockies have the best record in the NL and the second best in all of baseball. Even more shocking is they are doing it with their pitching, they have a team ERA of 3.61.
 
There was a lot of hope with the Red Sox team this year prior to the start of the season - things are not turning out the way I had hoped. I think Farrell is on the hot seat if they don't perform.

He'll be competing with Ausmus :p for that one. Detroit hasn't had a decent bullpen for years, yet Ausmus continues to keep them instead of sending them to the farm teams. Ugh.

Ausmus and Collins... Collins has apparently announced he's retiring after this season, not sure if NYM will let him go the whole way or ask him to leave a little early and bring in another manager (Teufel was stashed in a front-office position, maybe put him back in the dugout?).

The Mets need a new front office and a better training staff. Far too many injuries to pin on the manager.

Saw this when it happened, it was during a Mets game. LOVE Gary Cohen and Ron Darling (the 2 guys talking), and that race was pretty good. They had another one the next day. The guy in spandex is part of the grounds crew, but he's also a competitive runner.
