This will be welcome on my iPhone X, as I typically keep my phone in landscape orientation on the wireless charging stand at work. I find myself crooking my neck to unlock it sometimes.

I suspect it will only be for the new phone(s) and new iPad, and won't be back-ported to iPhone x due to hardware limitations.

Horizontal FaceID support would be handy. But isn't FaceID front camera more designed for portrait phones than landscapes? That's what the back camera is for at better resolution.

Might get the X2 if there are major improvements! Have the X now and I like it but if there is a new color like blue or red; I going make the change!

You are so ignorant! Look at how many Fortune CEOs have the SE!

No idea what you’re attempting to say here.

A pretty sizeable insult to all of the SE owners out there.

The same SE that was more powerful than an iPhone 6 at launch.
Which iPhone version we up to now fam?

iPhone 6 released Sep 19, 2014.

SE released Mar 31, 2016.

Would be worried if the SE wasnt more powerful than the 6.

So you acknowledge the SE is only 2 years old, which adds more weight to the view that your post made no sense.

funny how you circled around your own statement, wow it was better than iPhone 6. Haha! It's 2 years newer!

Acknowledge a release date? Nah man, I don't acknowledge dates and time. Its a figment of your imagination.
Haha what a ridiculous set of statements

It's all about the pricing. Apple need to stop charging European's more money than US costumers. In most places the basic iPhone X starts at almost $1400 dollars. That's ridiculous.
European socialism slows progress with excess taxation for yet more tax money for corrupt socialist politicians. Capital flees socialism, that’s why USA gets the benefits MS, Apple, Google, Facebook, etc., etc., and Europe gets to be third place behind tiny Israel.

Apple's upcoming 6.5-inch OLED iPhone, one of the three smartphones planned for 2018, will be about "the same size" as the iPhone 8 Plus, according to a "reliable supplier source" cited by Japanese blog Mac Otakara.

The site says the 6.5-inch device could be 0.2mm thicker than the iPhone 8 Plus due to the rear camera design, however, which will include a vertical dual-lens camera. The iPhone 8 Plus measures in at 7.5mm thick, while the iPhone X, which the new 6.5-inch iPhone will be modeled after, measures in at 7.7mm.

When it comes to dimensions, the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus is 6.24 inches long and 3.07 inches wide, but on that device, there are sizable bezels at the top and bottom. On the 6.5-inch iPhone, which can be thought of as a sort of "iPhone X Plus," there will be slimmer bezels and no Home button, with the display spanning from edge-to-edge.

As for the next-generation 5.8-inch OLED device that will follow the iPhone X, Mac Otakara says it will use the same body as the current iPhone X, but it will feature a larger rear camera lens attributable to a bigger camera sensor.

Rumors have suggested that the third device Apple plans on introducing, a lower-cost iPhone with an LCD display, will measure in at 6.1 inches, but Mac Otakara believes it could instead be a bit smaller at six inches.

It will feature Face ID, but it may only have a single rear camera like the iPhone 8, compared to the dual-lens setup expected for Apple's two more expensive OLED devices. Former KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also said to expect a single rear camera.

In addition to predicting features for Apple's 2018 iPhones, Mac Otakara's report suggests that iOS 12, the software that will run on both the new devices and existing devices, will feature improvements to Face ID.

Face ID in iOS 12 will reportedly allow users to unlock a device when it is held at a horizontal angle, rather than limiting unlocking via Face ID to the vertical orientation. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says the horizontal Face ID support is designed for the upcoming iPad Pro models that are expected to incorporate Face ID and the TrueDepth Camera system. It's also likely that the horizontal support being added for the iPads will also work on iPhones.

More information on what to expect in iOS 12, which will be unveiled in just under a month, can be found in our iOS 12 roundup. Additional details on what to expect in the iPhones coming in 2018, likely in the September timeframe, can be found in our 2018 iPhones roundup.

Went from 7plus to X. Don’t want larger. Must resist. It’s a portable iPad, will willpower triumph? I’m I that weak? Is it silvery and has an apple logo? Oh no! Resist! I’ll just hold it briefly at the Store. Put in Reminders “will not purchase...will not lease”...it’s too beaut....large!

The notch is great? It could be my lack of attention to this site, but I think you may be in the minority. While the notch doesn't exactly bother me 6 months later, I certainly welcome the omission of it in future releases.

Really, the only thing I am enjoying of the iPhone X is the size. I eventually got used to the + sizes, but I loved going back to a phone that was sized more appropriately for me. I don't watch a whole lot on my phone short of the occasional video someone posts, so screen size is less important to me these days. I imagine I'm in the minority there though.

The only issue with the notch is that app developers have yet to fully work around the new parameters. In due time it will be unnoticeable as the core display will only use the space below the notch and the two sides will be used for something useful kind of like with the home screen.

As for the size, I think Apple just needs to move to three models. The over-sized plus with a full screen, something that continues with the sizing of the X and the SE model. The SE size could vary from year to year depending on shifting public sentiment. Absent volume issues the X and + versions could have similar features whereas the SE would continue as the low-cost model.

You literally have no idea what you're talking about.
You're surely the type of person who just (leases) the newest iPhone just to say you "own" the newest iPhone.
Get a life and get off the blogs, sheep.

It’s not only about your local tax but import duty tax on foreign goods. Here in India it ranges from 20-400% to protect local companies. The X costs $ 1450 in India.

In Europe I think it’s also the second year warranty and other pro consumer laws that bring up the prices. US is relatively free market with competition dictating consumer protection rather than the government.
We don’t have 2 years warranty in the U.K, just the standard 1 year.

However, what we do have is the ability to take a seller to court, over what you feel is an unreasonable failure (dead iPhone after 18 months for example).

You would have to pay for initial 3rd party tests to support your claim, but would get these back if you win.

This is not a longer warranty.

The EU have 2 years manufacturers warranty and that’s it, no making claims after 730 days.
