Ridiculously massive. I thought the whole point of a bezel-less iPhone was to accommodate a larger screen into a wieldy form factor, not create a new generation of phablets.

Where is that updated SE anyway? That's a rumour I'd be interested in.

UGH!!! We don't want a "X" form factor, we want an 8 form factor so we can retain the home button and have no notch. There better be an iPhone 8S to choose from along with these "X+s"

Not me, I’d like an almost full screen iPhone with matching, very small bezels top and bottom (smallest possible necessary to house the components), a decent aspect ratio to watch full-screen video and under screen Touch ID please.

Horizontal FaceID unlock would be awesome. It would be awesome because right now I was on a call on my phone, which interrupted Netflix, and when the call was over, it locked the screen. I had to unlock it normally. So yeah, landscape FaceID unlock would be awesome. Of course I'm sure it'll be a hardware upgrade only though, so us X owners are out of luck. Such is life.

Speak for yourself. The home button sucks and the notch is great.
The notch is great? It could be my lack of attention to this site, but I think you may be in the minority. While the notch doesn't exactly bother me 6 months later, I certainly welcome the omission of it in future releases.

Really, the only thing I am enjoying of the iPhone X is the size. I eventually got used to the + sizes, but I loved going back to a phone that was sized more appropriately for me. I don't watch a whole lot on my phone short of the occasional video someone posts, so screen size is less important to me these days. I imagine I'm in the minority there though.

without the notch what you have is an Apple TV remote situation. I love the notch.

You do realize that 40.000 suicides in the US are not related to iPhone making, which makes your comparison irrelevant!
Why? Someone repeated stupid claims that Foxconn workers are so downtrodden that they commit suicides in masses. If average US citizens commit 60 times more suicides per million of the population, that surely shows that the "workers commit suicide" thing is nonsense.

I find myself having to enter my pin far more often on the X than on prior models. Bad angles, sun behind me, looking away too soon, etc. seem to be the reason.

Interesting ... but almost the opposite of my experience. I almost never have to enter the pin anymore. But I turned off the setting where the eyes have to be open, i.e. you having to actively stare at the phone; safe enough for me and probably helps with false negatives.

I cannot wait for the X Plus. The length of the X would have been fine but it is sinply not wide enough (yes, still talking about a phone).

I just hope they price it more „reasonable“ as in lower the price of the reg X and have the X Plus start at the 999 mark. I mean for 1.349€ and most likely pathetic 64 GB i could get a Mac

are you american? This is oddly such an american mindset i hear a lot. „Dont like xy. Simply dont do xy!“. „Cannot afford health insurance? Not MY problem!“

Who is we? You and your friend? You and your wife? You and your cat?

I ask, because it certainly isn’t you and me.

From a UI consistency perspective, having the new X2 Plus be slightly larger than the 8 Plus, just like the X was slightly larger than the 7/8, makes perfect sense. On the X any application that used a fixed position UI layout and was not updated to support the resolution of the X was put in a boxed area that was exactly the same size (in terms of inches) as the 7/8 screen, and that fit neatly into middle of the the ever so slightly wider and much taller screen of the X. For apps designed for a Plus screen, they could do the same for the new X2 Plus if the display is proportionally increased in the same way.

Speak for yourself--I definitely want the X form factor with the bigger screen.

Yes, the notch is absolutely great as compared to the alternative of having a full bezel up there. Many people seem to dislike the notch because they think it's taking up screen space, but in reality the notch actually allows the phone to have more usable space on the screen.

I was always hoping Face ID could be used horizontally. I thought we would need an upgraded version (IE: this years new models) but if they infact can (and do) enable it through ios 12.. great!!

None of this seems very unexpected.
Agreed. Incremental expected updates are getting rather boring. It's stuff most of us consumers wish was already present in the in the initial offering. When you ask yourself "how come Apple did not..." before you finish remember its a business and its only in business to make $$ :]

My 7+ is still working fine since day one in 2016 but if this one isn't crazy expensive and I can sell my 7+ for at least a decent price then I'm on board for it. Looks like it'll be a beast of a phone.
