I’m really not excited for iPhone this year. I’m more excited for new iPad Pro.

It will be December for me anyways since that is when the unlock version will be available! Buy a T-Mobile model has many less radios inside it! It is a suckers buy IMO!

The Verizon full priced model is the unlocked version.

Right, just wondering if Apple will waive that payment. I'm guessing not, but its a bit of a unique situation.

Maybe in the distant past. The Apple of today goes to extraordinary lengths to preserve margins - there's no way they are going to throw away money for their hottest selling product line.

Same here! Been wanting an X in that size since last year. :)

I do dislike the whole process of getting all my ducks in a row so that I can successfully complete my order at 2 am Central, though. Gotta do it!

I highly doubt they'll sell out. You'll be fine ordering it when you get up.

This is the first year that I may not purchase a new iPhone. I've owned every one since 2007 but I love my iPhone 8 Plus Form factor so much and don't want to move to FaceID or the Notch. I hope that they'll keep the iPhone 8 form factor for one more year.

Ditto for me also. My Iphone X has been just fantastic and I see no reason to upgrade. Now if the Series 4 watch is significantly better than my Series 3 then I will seriously consider it,

I don’t think my wallet can handle another $1000 phone, $1000 tablet, and $700 watch so soon. Unless Tim pulls a literal rabbit out of a hat next month, I think I’ll skip the upgrades this year. A lil boost of CPU, memory, 1MP extra camera ain’t going to fly this year. Add the cases, the keyboard, the accessories, the watch bands... this yearly spending tradition is getting old.

I'm definitely getting one (not sure which), but I'm gonna give it a month or so. Throughout the years, I had problems with phones hat I preordered / got right after launch. Phones that were bought later had no issues.

I know, I know, Apple quality control and what not, but they seem to rush things around launch time.

Can’t wait for the new iPhones to release so I can finally get a iPhone 8 Plus “cheap”.

Woooooo!

I am confused, I pre-ordered my iPhone X last year on October 27, not on September 14. What exactly am I missing here?

Overall, maybe it's just that I'm getting older (31 now) but I'm still happily rocking a Series 2 after buying series 0 on day one and I'm rocking a 2 year old iPad Pro 9.7" because it's still fantastic and I love it. I finally upgraded my 2013 MacBook Pro to a Core i9 model. I was for many years spending $5-7K a year on Apple hardware and services. I was selling everything for about 3-4K so it wasn't a huge cost to always have the latest hardware but at some point, the headache and time it takes to wheel & deal and upgrade just became too much.

Being on a 2-3 year upgrade cycle on Mac hardware is how its designed. Other than FOMO, there's usually very little reason to upgrade.

The statement that Apple “typically” releases iPhones on Tuesday rather than Wednesday isn’t that accurate. Three times for Wednesday vs four for Tuesday is hardly enough of a difference to say that Tuesday is Typical. And if it’s wednesday this year, then it shows that Apple really doesn’t care which day they release it.

Seems a bit dramatic.
I mean, if I want to get my device within the first month I have to wake up at 2am. Seems like a pretty crap move on their part. It's 2018, they should be able to design around this. For one thing, I'd just like the iPhone Upgrade Program to offer a subscription service. They allocate extra units for subscribers. Every year on preorder day they send me an email and I fill out which iPhone I want, along with other accessories like Apple Watch, AirPods 2, AirPower, etc. Then it just shows up the next week. Easy, done.

I think that's probably the case with any item that's in such high demand.
But it doesn't have to be! They could easily have preorder times PER COUNTRY. They just choose not to, therefore being more customer hostile than they should be. That's all, nothing more, nothing less. They need to fix it. I've spoken with my contacts at AOS Executive Relations Team (the people who report directly to Tim Cook and the rest of the execs) about this and they agree that there is room for improvement. I worked with them to get iPhone Upgrade Program shipments to become a thing we no longer have to travel hundreds of miles to a store so hopefully we'll see further improvements as they continue to work on the service.

I'm sure you could request time off work if it's that important. Guess I just don't understand how a phone can create such strong, negative feelings.

Doing the finger push up to increase speed and stamina for preorder day/night.
I’m doing the finger push ups for both my hands since I’ll have the iPhone app open and my iPad app open at the same time lol! Going for the Plus?

100% it won't happen, unfortunately...
Actually today that might have been misproven after all. Based on what Rambo said it appears that on the keynote they will quietly upgrade the iPhone SE with a A10 processor. I guess we will find out in only 20 days.
