Lol I have a feeling my dinner party is pretty big. I might be bringing most NFL fans outside of New England with me... Not sure if the restaurant has enough seating. At the very least all fans of AFC teams should be joining me.
I'm NFC and will go to that party. I'm pretty sure almost every non-Patriot fan wanted them to lose even if the didn't care about the Titans.

Fox News is reporting that the Carolina Panthers have hired Baylor coach Matt Rhule to be their next head coach.

Looks like Garrett will be new OC for the Giants and Joe Judge the new HC.

I didn't see that coming Wide receivers coach to head coach? That's a big promotion. If they were going to pick a Patriots coach why not McDaniels? (other than how he pulled out of the indy job)

I think one of the knocks on mccarthy was that his offensive scheme had become stale in today's style of play, and that he was too stubborn to make any adjustments to catch up...... Hopefully having a year off to study the game from the outside looking in gave him some perspective and he updated his offense.
Yes, he did that. Apparently that's what sold Jerry on hiring him.

Saturday/Sunday’s Picks:

49ers advance over Vikings

Ravens advance over Titans

Chiefs advance over Texans

Seahawks advance over Packers

Bolded: I said it before, the Packers haven’t really played anyone that challenging all season. I think the Seahawks are going to pose a challenge. In the least, it should be close. I’d say this is the biggest game of the whole divisional round, just given how close of a point-spread this should be.

Supposedly McDaniels wanted no part of the Giants GM.

Are you sure he wanted no part, or that the Giants wanted no part of him. I'm thinking its the latter

I have to agree with what Pat McAfee

McDaniels sucks. He crippled the Broncos when he was here. And then his behavior towards the Colts.
I'm not sure how to take McDaniels.

I agree what he did and how he acted as the Broncos coach. Yet he takes full responsibility on that fiasco and he has vowed that he's learned from that experience. In many ways I believe him.

Then there's the Colts and I think that just highlighted similar behavior so I do wonder. His only shot at being a HC in 2020 is Cleveland and rumors have it that he's more or less lined up a coaching staff. Now its up up the organization to say who will be the HC

Gawd no. The Cleveland fans have suffered long enough. McDaniel is the worst HC prospect I can think of character-wise. If you thought the Breveland Clowns were undisciplined under Freddy, they'll be much worst under Josh. The Colts not only dodge a bullet when he left them at the altar; they found a vastly superior option in Reich. IMO, Reich is easily one of the better HC in the NFL.
I heard the Browns had a shot at landing Bruce Arians last year. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.

Bold prediction for the Seahawks. I hope you are correct, although based on your picks, the Hawks would need to travel to SF the following week for the NFC Championship Game. Don't think the Hawks can win that one.

I would agree with all of these, The Seahawks tend to play their best football in January

Agreed. I wouldn’t touch McDaniels with a ten foot pole.

And the only other reason I’m really voting over the Packers, is if you look at their trajectory of how they played their games over the 2019 season, they barely won against losing teams and/or made a come-back when they were behind from teams with losing records. They have a great coach with Matt LaFleur and I know they have a strong record finishing off the regular season, but I think that’s a bit deceptive given how they actually did play the season was not their strongest. Even with Aaron Rodgers as good as he is, I’m not sure that he’s the key answer pending how they play Sunday night.

The Packers will be difficult at Lambeau Field, but the advantage to the Seahawks, they’re fluid and ready for the next game, where the Packers had a week off to ‘rest’, so I don’t know if that will be a factor against them or not.

The Seahawks have been fairly established in the postseason for the last few years, where as Green Bay struggled to even make the playoffs under Mike McCarthy as their previous head coach. So it definitely should the most anticipated game of the divisional round. I don’t think this will be a ‘blowout’, but momentum will be crucial from the get-go in the first quarter which team establishes themself.

The temperature for the game at kickoff will be about 22 to 23 degrees, which will at 5:40 PM Green Bay Time. And of course it will get colder, with the sun already setting earlier. I am not sure how well the Hawks can adapt to such cold conditions.

But yes, momentum will be key to the game. If the Hawks can get out to a 7 to 0 lead, that will bode well. But if instead the Packers get out to such a lead, it could be a long, long day (or should I say evening) for the Hawks.

Russell Wilson is from Wisconsin, so he should adapt to the environment perfectly. But the one thing the packers do have, is those fans will be relentlessly loud and to me, that’s a huge momentum factor when you play at home, especially at legendary Lambeau Field.

I forgot that about Wilson. But I don't think that would make much difference, especially with those fans. As it is, the Hawks have not won a game at Lambeau Field since 1999.

Well, after seeing how the wildcard round turned out with professional sports analysts even being dead wrong with what teams were advancing, I really wouldn’t emphasize any statistical data about the Seahawks not ‘winning since 1999’. Anything can happen in the playoffs, anything.

Yes, anything can happen. Shoot, I want to pick the Vikings over the 49ers!

I considered picking the Vikings, They’re a tricky team, and so are the Bears when they’re playing on a stronger level. But I think the 49ers offense will be to overwhelming for the Vikings in general.

That's what I thought about the Saints offense. I feel like the Saints have a much more explosive offense than the 49ers and the Vikings survived that. I think if the 49ers are going to win, their defense has to stifle Cousins and contain Cook...... the battle in the trenches does not bode well for Minnesota, SF has an excellent pass rush and the Vikings pass protection has been poor..... So look for the game to potentially be decided up front.

Wilson played one year at UW. He played at NC State before that, I believe, but somewhere in the Carolina's. I'm not sure where he was born and raised. I'm also not sure that one can quantifiably verify that weather makes a difference for a player or a team. But it's a reasonable sounding theory.

I’m sure😁. If a player adapts to the environment that they perform in, its a _huge_ factor.

Let me help you out since you’re unsure:

Example: Do you know how many teams that play at Mile High in the NFL Or at the Pepsi Center with the Denver Nuggets that struggle due to the altitude? It’s some of the hardest territory to play for in professional sports due to players become easily gassed due to the altitude. Now I realize that’s not ‘weather’, but that’s a climate a player has to adapt to, where as the Nuggets/Broncos are able to adjust to that, where they’re not affected like other teams/players are.

Additionally, didn’t Russell Wilson just say in an interview that he’s comfortable playing at a lower temperature levels like Wisconsin? (Rhetorical) I believe he did, especially being that he did play for Madison.

Here is info about Wilson:

He also recently (back in August) became a part owner of the Seattle Sounders:
