Major blow for the Eagles with Wentz out. McCown just couldn’t execute anything, but that’s a lot of pressure in the playoff factor.

Nonetheless, Wilson had some amazing throws/Metcalf had two crucial catches to assist. Good for Seattle.

Wild-Card weekend was a lot fun to watch.

Divisional predictions to follow next week.....

....TBC

OK, the Hawks did it! Great pass by Wilson to Metcalf near the end of the game, and it sealed the win.

Here's the schedule for next weekend:

Of course the TBD team for the Green Bay game is Seattle. And once again, the Hawks have to play the last game of the weekend. Could be real cold in Green Bay, especially with a late Sunday start.

And if the Vikings and Seahawks win, the NFC championship game would be played in Seattle the following Sunday! That would be awesome, and this town (I live about 25 miles south of Seattle) would go nuts.

Wow, 3 of the 4 wildcard teams advance to the divisional round.

My picks for the wildcard round...

Texans, Patriots, Saints, Seahawks all win to advance to the divisional round.

Yikes, went 2-2 for my predictions.

There’s quite a few ‘upside-down’ brackets right now. But this was a wild ride for the teams that advanced. The team that really impressed me was the Bills, they played with such tenacity/passion. Unfortunately Allen made to many mistakes that put them out of reach.

Looking forward to the divisional round. [Double or nothing..😁]

Conspiracy theories that Belichick takes the Giants job.

Either that or he beams back up to his alien ship!! :D

I'd love to see the Titans go all the way.
Big turn around mid season.!!

Actually, a Titans-Seahawks Super Bowl would be cool! But I don't see that happening.

For the AFC, I see the Ravens defeating the Titans on Saturday, and the Chiefs defeating the Texans on Sunday. That would set up a heck of an AFC Championship Game, the Chiefs at the Ravens.

But for the NFC, I don't have any picks yet, as those games, Minnesota at SF on Saturday and Seattle at Green Bay on Sunday, are more difficult to pick. I guess at the outset, one would think SF will beat the Vikings, and Green Bay will beat the Hawks. But Minnesota did take it to the Saints, and the Hawks continue to do well on the road (including today's win at Philadelphia, they are 8 and 1 on the road).

Out of the 8 final teams there is only one repeat from last year (KC) This is great competitive balance for the NFL P.R. machine.

It is not the same teams over and over again in the playoffs.
Its so incredibly hard to win in the NFL which in a sense is a testament to the patriot's incredible run.

From my perspective, it's nice to see different teams in the playoffs and eventually the SB, it's refreshing. I largely follow the NCAA more than the NFL but one of my complaints is that we see same teams since they instituted the playoffs.

Both USAToday & Fox News are reporting that the Cowboys have hired Mike McCarthy as their new head coach. This is a great move by the Cowboys.

Awesome. Plus, they have Randall Cobb as a wide receiver acquired from G.B, and he was coached under McCarthy. So I think Cobb can really help the offense of side of things to understand McCarthy’s specific gameplay techniques.

Is it?

With the likes of Aaron Rodgers at the helm and McCarthy coaching them for 12 years, he hadn't really do too much. Yes, he did win a SB, and I take nothing away from him on that, but people were expecting much much more given the talent level

The Cowboys will never win as long as Jones is so hands on. Will McCarthy make them a contender, yes. Will they win, no.

I was hoping he would go to the Giants.

Let me clarify my remarks, he's not a bad coach and to be honest, of all of the available coaches out there, he's probably the best, but he did fail to get the job done in GB. The cowboys opted for a win now attitude and I think the new administration will certainly breath new life. Given the inherent weakness of the NFC, the cowboys shouldn't have too many problems winning that division

I hear Rodgers is a bit of an ass, so I wonder how much of the problem was McCarthy.

A bit?

From what I've read he's had an issue with McCarthy since day 1, because he was part of the coaching staff in SF that passed on drafting him

I think one of the knocks on mccarthy was that his offensive scheme had become stale in today's style of play, and that he was too stubborn to make any adjustments to catch up...... Hopefully having a year off to study the game from the outside looking in gave him some perspective and he updated his offense. If he is able to do that then I think he will be a great hire for Dallas.
