Renault being sneaky and secretive. Kinda aggravating isn't it?

No Chinese Grand Prix. Vietnam in doubt.
Australia a logistical nightmare. Could be an interesting season!

Indeed.

With China effectively cancelled (there is no room for a reschedule) that means a one month break between Vietnam (assuming it goes off) and the Netherlands so it will be interesting to see how much the cars change between those two events since they will have both extra R&D time and they won't have to air-ship new parts so they can do more iterations.

I like the McLaren and Alpha because they look pretty different to the other liveries.

I think F1 cars are generally a mess to look at, but these are nice liveries.

So, tomorrow (the 19th) is the start of the first test. Of course, we can't read too much into these as they are mainly shakedown tests and give a lot of false positives which evaporate by the time of the first race.

That all said, it's a bit of fun to try and predict things, so what are your thoughts on the next three days....will Williams show they have closed the gap, will Mercedes trip up and have problems (or just bluff)?? What about Ferrari?

Not easy to copy. Just what Mercedes needed. An advantage!

Found myself watching far too much testing these last few days and this did make it interesting. Well done Mercedes for some genuine innovation.

Hilarious when Sky commentators started talking about if this is something that would make it onto road cars!!

wow.

How much of an advantage does it give them?

It's really going to suck if they lap the entire field all season long.

Best bit of innovation since the F-duct and exhaust blown diffusers I think - genuine out of the box thinking. Unsuprisingly banned for next year as no relevance at all to road cars and an developmental money black hole.

IMO, from what I've read on the development it would seen to me a best case would be a slight speed increase on long relatively straight sections. It is an interesting development, it is however, completely reliant on the drivers ability/skill to not only know when and when not to use it, but to what degree? If used improperly it actually has the potential to degrade performance very slightly.

It will be interesting to see. I'm sure Hamilton will pick up quickly.
