You guys think as someone with an order and standard shipping I should call Costco and confirm that it is cancelled and done or still ride it out?
I’m going to ride it out and see what I get. If it’s a mini I’m going to call them and see if they will honor it. I’m going to try instore too. Costco is close to me so it’s not much of inconvenience and I need to shop for groceries too. Maybe we standard shipping folks will get lucky.

I went ahead and processed my return of the Mac Mini (unopened delivery box) with their automated system online. UPS will be picking up my package within 2-4 days. Didn't feel like contacting customer service to try to get an MBA replacement seeing as they don't even sell the 512GB version online ATM.

Same. They haven’t recharged my card though which is weird.

check your statement,

mine was just charged.

I'd say there's a zero percent chance its a MBA since its the exact same weight as the mini ugh...

Going to try a call with Costco, might just see if they can request the package back while its in transit.

Worst comes to worst, I guess I'll try for a prepaid return label when it arrives and drop it off at UPS store or something.

ugh... how did they not correct the error after expedited shipping users already dealt with this?

Yea I see the charge as well. I’ll get it in tomorrow and deal with it then. So troublesome

Dang, I was following this thread hoping to read that they honored their advertised price/product. I wonder if Costco is claiming ignorance or pretending it was just some employee's input error? I guess it was worth a shot.

Ah I see the rest of you will get their shiny new mini's soon, enjoy! 😂

My Costco was so dumb they actually opened the box to verify the device had the same serial # as the box. It was shrink wrapped still...Then it took them like 20 minutes to figure out what to do since they dont even sell the damn thing in the store.

They'd be dumb NOT to check.

Re-shrinkwrapping and returning the box with something different/worthless is an old scam.

If you say so, returned tons of things never opened, never does any other company do that. Then again, I don't go to ghetto ass Walmart. Not like I personally give a squat, but they cost themselves money on that one.

this whole thing was a waste of money

issuing the gift cards. sending the product off. accepting a return. for a product they don't sell lol

Per UPS on my delivery today while it was 2 blocks away from my house...
“Due to global health events beyond our control, your package is being held for delivery at a later date”

I did an online chat with Costco this morning and they had UPS stop it in transit. Tracking number already shows return to sender, so I should have a refund in a few days.

Thanks for the tip. Did the same over phone saved me some hassle

My refund posted 2 days after UPS picked up my Mac Mini. Hoping to still get the $50 gift card

So Costco agreed to split the difference on the base model Air. Do I do it or just not bother. $750 for the base model is slick but I really wanted the model that we originally ordered.

The list price for a new one is $999, so if you get the one now for $750 and never use it, you could sell it for $950 (attractive price), thus pocketing a cool $200. Then when the one you really want is on sale, buy it.

That's the price that Amazon is selling them brand new. So probably have to go lower than $950 by a bit to make up for also having no buyer protections, 5% cash back, or financing deals. Anyway..

I thought you started the return already. What happened? Did you call them again? How did you manage to get them to agree to the base model? Just wondering how I should approach reaching out to them about it. Thanks

Yes, it’s been over a week since I called and spoke to a supervisor about the issue. After the supervisor failed to get there correct mba approved by the buying team, she then offered to give me a $250 credit for the $1099 MBA of last year. I declined that and mentioned this base model for this year saying it’s only $200 more than what the other price is and it’s downgraded model from what we ordered. She said she’d credit me $150 and to use the $50 cash card. I’m waiting to see if they get the base i5 model in before ordering the i3 one. On Friday, they had the gold model that we originally ordered for the correct price of course and cleared out old models so I’m thinking they’ll be adding more models this upcoming week. Good luck with your call if you choose to go my route. Just remember to kindly ask for a supervisor to resolve this issue since it’s their fault for switching up the item number after we ordered.

Costco sells the base model for $949. $750 is a pretty good deal. I'd just get it and use it and enjoy it. If it doesn't work out for you, you can probably sell it and easily get your money back.

Did they agree to refund the difference for i5 model if it were in stock?
If it was $150+gift card off the difference of the $949 model it might be really trying to get the $1249 model for $450 off + giftcard
From a supervisor

if in the market I’d be happy with that

I think at this point I’m just gonna stick w my education discounted i5 from Apple for $999 (8/256 still like base) but an i3 for $749 in whatever form is great. Tats $150 extra off the edu discount price for a product that just came out

took a couple weeks but it’s Here

I’m waiting to see if the base i5 model gets released at Costco this week so I could ask for that. They originally was going to do $300 off last years MBA that was $1099 and I declined that because of the keyboard. If they were going to a $300 credit, if they list the base i5 model for $1049, they should be able to do that.
