I got tracking late last night, then I guess i had an automatic setting for ups mychoice to drop it off at an access point 🙄
This happened while asleep, but I then had to cancel that... not even sure if the business is open.
so now it looks like ups will deliver Monday 😔

I ordered MBA on 3/17, got the same message about automatic upgrade. Delivery date 3/31-4/2.
Sounds like once it finally ships, it's a quick delivery...? Your situation not withstanding, having to cancel the drop-off, etc. I called Apple when I got the upgrade notice because the price difference was big enough that I wanted to confirm the configuration. Turns out the upgrade order didn't include AppleCare, which was on the original order, thus the larger than expected price difference. I also confirmed that it would be shipping from overseas (I assume China), so who know how long it will take to get here once shipped.
Order place at 8:48AM on the 18th. Still processing~

For the ones with trade-in, does the 14 days count down from when you receive the Air or when you receive the kit?
because I have a feeling unless they ship the laptop with the trade in kit, I'm going to be receiving that one earlier

Ordered mine yesterday. i5/16/256. It's going to be about two weeks. Kinda funny that the base would only take a few days. Surely they realized a lot of people would upgrade to the i5? Why wouldn't you for $100?
At least they made it happen at $1000 for people who truly don’t care whatsoever

I received my return kit today. Mac prob Monday. I got an email saying that my return was valid 21 days from the date of my order.
Now that the price dropped $100, im debating whether I even want to trade my old 11” 2012 MBA in at all. They were only giving me $100 on it anyway, and bc it will be an apple store gc, it doesnt make sense anymore. Its running Catalina 10.15.4 pretty well?

That's really not worth it IMO, it's just going to contribute to e waste as they'll most likely scrap/strip the parts and then recycle the aluminum. You'll probably get $200 on the used market anyways and then it'll get some more life out of it.

It runs a little hot, but now I'm curious to see how far this base model can go...
Mine runs hot too, I applied Arctic MX-4 and it seems to radiate a lot of heat to the case without needing to spin the fans up as often. I did my last upgrade to it this week, a hi-res antiglare screen from a botched repair Mac, and will do the DosDude1 treatment to it when the GPU eventually dies for the second time. How is your battery life? Feel free to PM me to avoid hijacking this thread.
I still have the base model, battery life is pretty awful, maybe 1.5 hrs on a full charge? Mayyyyyyybe, lol. Havent done any mods, battery died fully a few years back, and it was out of warranty with no apple care, but was able to get them to fix it for free!!
Still love the Grand Central Apple Store for that alone, lol. 😂

my custom build i7/16gb/1tb is "processing" since the day of announcement.
Mine is the silver i5/8gb/512gb build, trade-in, education price. Is there a description of these points on the timeline somewhere? I'd be interested in what those terms mean...they seem sort of random when customers post their status progress. 😆

Canceled and reordered Friday afternoon. i5/8gb/512gb build, trade-in, education price and I got shipping notification yesterday for Tuesday delivery. That’s fast.
