2020 Macbook Air, What color are you getting? Space Gray or Sliver? I am debating to buy a Macbook Air or not but I am really stuck on the color so I thought to post a poll to see what others like or have?

EDIT: Also I am worried about scratches on the space gray and oily hands if that ever where to happen. I do like the Space gray a lot.

For people who had Space Gray for awhile can you put your input on scratches and oily hands?

I generally prefer the space grey models but one thing to keep in mind: I’ve got multiple products from Apple and third parties all purported to be space grey (Mac mini, MacBook Pro, Magic keyboard, a laptop stand, a couple of different USB m2 cases) - not one of them is the same colour as any other item.

I don’t mind it but if you’re a stickler for colour coordination it may bother you.
 
I just got a Space Gray MacBook Air. It's my first Mac laptop and went with Space Gray over Silver as I felt Silver is the color most associated with Mac's and I wanted something that stood out a bit but not so much to go with Gold. Now that I have it I kinda wish I went with Silver but I don't really have any complaints.
 
After having silver for ever, than going to space gray like others, I'm back to silver for better dealing with minor scratches. I work with aluminum quite a bit, both dark and light anodized, and can say the lighter shades work better for me.

About scratches: I never had an space grey but I used my silver 2014 MacBook Air now for 6 six years and there are no scratches at all. Which is pretty impressive. But because I want to try something new I would choose a space grey this time.
 
Yeah to clarify, by scratches, I also mean small dents, etc. My 2015 has a few. I'm not sure if they would show through to bare aluminium on a space grey model but.... if I ever do anything deep enough to go through the coating, well... the silver machines don't have any coating :)
 
Had a silver rMBP '14 so I bought my MBA2020 in Space Grey.

Space Grey all the things (except the green iPhone 11 Pro... which looks pretty Space Grey most of the time.)
 
I've been on a space grey streak for my past few Mac purchases and will continue with a new MBA. At some point I'll probably go back to silver though - it's just so classic. Either way it looks great to me.

had a silver 2016 NTB so space grey Air 2020 to make it feel more different

love getting that wedge form factor back

even though its only 0.2lbs lighter than my Pro it feels even lighter somehow
 
I went with silver, the finish holds up better to scuffs and scratches, plus the new Mac Pro is silver and it is less common than space grey models.
 
I've had a silver Air for personal use since 2013, and a silver Pro for work since 2015, and since 2018 I've had another newer silver Pro also for work (I need 2 laptops for work). I am kinda tired of silver at this point so I went with space grey. The space grey will match my 11" ipad Pro. I really, really like the gold though too. It was a tough decision for me between space grey and gold.
 
I have owned silver and SG macbooks and prefer silver. If I stick with MBA, I may try gold next time.

Depends on your individual usage and how you treat your stuff.

My 2015 rMB12 is space gray and is pristine. I also don't use it on gritty surfaces and carry it in an Incase ICON sleeve.

You could also look into adding a skin to the top and bottom shells - I use BestSkinsEver on my ipads and they've been well worth it. Talk to them to see if the 2018-19 version will work with the 2020 model or they're coming out with a new one. https://www.bestskinsever.com/macbook-air-13-inch-2018-skin
 
I’ve always thought everything but the silver looks like a coating that would scratch off, which makes it look cheap to me. Prefer bare metal look always and every time.
