That happened to my MBA order, it supposedly went from Shanghai, to South Korea and then back again before finally getting to Anchorage Alaska. It was delayed by 10 days vs. Apple's original estimate.

Well that's not encouraging! Mine arrived in Incheon around 9 ET this morning, and departed around noon ET. Curious to see where it goes next based on your experience.

I wished that DHL was more transparent with the process, I've seen a lot of screenshots of people's MBPs being shipped by DHL where the tracking site just shows 'Shipping information received' for like 3 or 4 days. I know if they say it will be delivered by X date they usually do it but.... it's nice to know where my little 💸is heading or doing.

Just been shipped (7th May).

Apple says delivery on Friday 15th, UPS says Wednesday 13th!!

MBP 13 8th Generation
i5/16/256 Space Grey
Order date: May 4th
Country: UK

Update:

Latest tracking from UPS says arrival scan in Germany as of 10th at 3:38pm. Hasn't been updated today.
UPS now doesn't show an estimated delivery date but only "scheduled delivery".
Apple now says it delivers on Monday 18th.

Has anyone else from the UK had their MacBook come from Germany? How long does it usually take UPS to get it shipped to UK/final destination? Or is anyone else's MacBook currently in Germany and in the same situation as mine?

Pretty much confirmed ours are both on the same shipment. It was scanned at the local fedex facility yesterday and today. FedEx’s estimate is Wednesday still, so hopefully that’s true. Still expect it by the end of the week.

if you don’t mind me asking, what state do you live in?

Yea absolutely on the same one which is comforting to know. Being shipped to NJ!

About 3 weeks ago I had a 2020 MacBook Air delivered in the UK by UPS. It routed from the factory in mainland China to Hong Kong then to Dubai and on to Cologne in Germany. It arrived in Cologne on a Sunday evening and next tracked to somewhere in Essex the following night (I suspect having got there by road). It was delivered to me in Cheshire on the Tuesday morning. So from Germany to my doorstep took around 36 hours.

I hope this helps. 😆

I ordered the base i5 10th gen 13" the day it dropped. I've been working on a mid-2012 i7 13" MBP that I upgraded quite a bit over the years, replacing the superdrive with a HDD and incrementally upgrading the RAM and the SSD over the years. I love the machine and though it started to stuggle a bit with my workload, I couldn't stand the butterfly keyboard, not to mention not being able to upgrade the components on new models. But when the new MBA came out, I bit the bullet and got a i7 16gb RAM MBA. It's a great device and handles my workcase decently, but there was already enough lag that I figured I'd return it when the MBP dropped. Thankfully my last day to initiate a return was the Monday that happened.

It's out for delivery today. As you can see from the tracking info below, it's been sitting in a warehouse in LA since Thursday (when I got an agonizing "out for delivery" notice and tracking info, only for nothing to be delivered.) When I called, turns out the local UPS distribution center is slammed hard – makes sense given the times. Still crazy that it took less time to get from China to LA than it did to get the 3 miles to my door.

There have been some very odd shipping details posted on tracking systems recently, and they are clearly often very wrong.

We recently bought some airpods which were shipped to the UK from China. According to the tracking the route they took was:

China
Hong Kong
Taiwan
Dubai
Quick trip back to Taiwan
Back to Dubai
Anchorage
Germany
UK

Obviously the second Taiwan visit was a system glitch, but Anchorage was a total red herring (no way they could have got there and back in the time even if it was something they would have done).

I would treat all tracking details with a pinch of salt at the moment.

I work in IT for a shipping company, no names but basically because we were behind the competition and missing an online tracking system we fabricated it. It normally just looks at obvious routes from A to B and plots those.

We did however also put in an Easter Egg that triggers occasionally for people that track their packages far too often. In these cases you’ll see your package taking a really weird route, sometimes as you mentioned going back on itself just to wind you up a bit.

The reality though is that Bob in Swindon makes all the MacBooks for the UK. They don’t even come from China I’m afraid.

😉

I ordered i5/16/1TB on launch day
Estimated delivery: 13 - 20 May to the UK
Still says processing, so I won't be seeing it any time soon. At least the estimated dates haven't (yet) slipped from those I got when I ordered.

Ordered a new monitor same day which arrived after only a couple of days, so currently using that with my work laptop. I'm missing macOS already.

I just got charged, so hopefully things are beginning to move. Status still at processing though.

This does help, thanks.

I was just worried/confused because UPS tracking has not updated in 24 hours. So it still says it’s in Cologne. Hopefully it follows a similar path to your shipment in that it gets in the UK overnight.

Yes, my tracking went dead in Cologne until it popped up in Essex about a day later.

Mines down for delivery tomorrow!! Tracking shows it in Hinkley GB
So you’ve gone from processing to preparing to ship and now shipped with delivery tomorrow all in the space of today? Excellent! If I’ve got that right you must have been one of a batch delivered to the UK rather than built to order in China.

Can you remind me what spec you chose?
