MBP 13 8th Generation
i5/16/512gb Space Grey
Order date: May 4, 3 pm GMT
Estimated delivery: May 15
Country: UK
Shipped Date: 08/05/2020
Courier: DHL

I this bizarre, I ordered mine around 3pm GMT on the day of the launch. I got a tracking number from DHL on the 8th informing me they received the shipping information from apple, on the apple store app the delivery date is the 18/05/2020 while on the apple site the delivery date is 15/05/2020. My parcel is also being handled by DHL.

Still no tracking updates on DPD, it’s a dead number. Ordered i5/16gb/512gb @4pm on release day. Space grey. Apple is showing delivery tomorrow. Not worried at all, it’ll come here at some point. Hopefully before the 14inch Release 😂

13” silver Base model i5 with 16gb ram (upgraded). Preparing to ship (UK)
Update, my order shipped yesterday! should be delivered on Monday! Very excited! The last computer I ordered from Apple was my mid 2011 iMac though I did have an old MacBook Pro from 2012 I bought second hand that unfortunately died recently (logic board needs replacing)! Can’t wait to install Logic Pro x and make some music :)

Update:

Latest tracking from UPS says arrival scan in Germany as of 10th at 3:38pm. Hasn't been updated today.
UPS now doesn't show an estimated delivery date but only "scheduled delivery".
Apple now says it delivers on Monday 18th.

Has anyone else from the UK had their MacBook come from Germany? How long does it usually take UPS to get it shipped to UK/final destination? Or is anyone else's MacBook currently in Germany and in the same situation as mine?

Update:

UPS tracking says it was released by customs at 0:48am
Latest tracking shows departure scan from Cologne, Germany at 4:38am

I also received a text saying it is scheduled for delivery tomorrow by the end of the day.

MBP 13 10th Generation

Order Date: May 6th
Estimated Delivery: May 21-29
Country: USA
Status: Processing

No movement. It seems ordering an i7 BTO takes longer. My payment method still shows pending.

This will be my first BTO new MBP. I bought a 2011 15” MBP used that is still working and a Best Buy on sale 13” MBP.
I wanted more power for some light video editing. I will be putting it though its paces.

I seem to be in the same i7 BTO boat. Ordered MBP 13 10th gen i7, 16GB, 1TB SSD hours after launch in US. Still processing and CC not charged. :( On a positive note the only thing that was a problem on my current machine (first gen 2012 15" retina MBP) was the battery which I successfully replaced last night. I also had previously upgraded wifi/bluetooth card so I have AC and can unlock with Apple watch. Still runs great and quite speedy. Now questioning whether I need the new one.

Order Date: May 5 (11:44pm EDT)
Estimated Delivery: May 21-29th

It seems like anyone who ordered a BTO after the morning of May 4th all got stuck with 1-2 weeks shipping. Currently, my configuration has a delivery estimate of May 28th - June 4th if you order today (May 9th at 2:13pm EDT).

Update:

May 11th (approx 9pm): Temporary credit card authorization of $0.00

May 12th at 7am: Temporary credit card authorization for full amount of computer and AppleCare.

May 12th at 8am: Apple Store App updates to say "Preparing to Ship"

It seems that way. I ordered a custom configuration also, probably needs to be made as opposed to the other stock models, which were probably basically ready to ship.

How is your 2012 still working? The GPU in mine decided to take a dump last year. The battery removal looks hideous!

You're going to love your 2020 MBP i7. I've had mine for several days now and have been putting it through it's paces (ordered ultimate config which Apple stocks alongside the base models: i7/32gb/2TB). So far it's faster than my partner's 2017 MBP 15 i7 2.9 quad core, and it blows away my 2012 rMBP 15 when it does decide to work (occasionally)

DHL and North West
Thank you! Nice yours was just delivered.
Mine is stuck in "Shipment information received" since Thursday, also DHL. Apparently, transportation lanes are more efficient these days between Asia and the US than between Asia and Europe.

Ah, are you in the US? UK here, sorry I didn't make that clear enough. It seems like the UK got a batch of them looking at previous replies of moving to the shipping stage.

No, I‘m in Europe :) I don’t quite understand how DHL and Apple make shipments work for the MBPs :D it’ll be fine, though

Have exactly the same travel history as you.... Our laptops are probably in the same pallet/cargo, seeing that we're both from Canada.

Can confirm similar situation here (however in US). It was scanned as import on Sunday but remained in Shanghai, it was just rescanned as “international shipment release” again and feel the 5/13 delivery date is really iffy now. 24 hours to get to the states and in my hands.

Ya I so far have been lucky that the GPU hasn't crapped out. It probably will as soon as I get the new one. When I first looked into the battery replacement options the procedure looked ridiculous - basically dismantling the entire machine so you can safely apply glue remover without damaging components to get the battery out. That was the main driver for the new one. I also now prefer the 13" form factor. While I've been waiting for the new one I came across an alternative method on youtube that several have used to get battery out much much easier. Basically you use a thin strong string (I used fishing line) to get under each battery cell and "saw" through the adhesive. Pretty quit and easy and nothing needs to be dismantled other than the casing (of course) and 2 battery screws. I will still keep the new machine but now have a perfectly working 2012 15" rMBP for kids to use for school work. It has 16Gb RAM and 512GB SSD so still up to modern standards. I'm surprised at how well the hardware has kept up.
