It doesn't necessarily have to be a lemon. In my case, for instance, the first one I returned was because, within 24 hours, it had three kernel panics. It was right before 10.15.4 came out and reports were that, for some people, the logic board was at fault and needed to be replaced. I do not know whether mine was in the same boat or not but, I was not willing to send in for repairs a brand new unit. So, I returned it and reordered.

Mine was shipped on Tuesday. I was originally scheduled for delivery on June 4th, so I was kind of surprised to see it ship already and according to UPS it should have arrived to me yesterday on May 29th. I got very excited for a short period of time!
Now it’s been stuck in Shanghai since Wednesday morning with no movement what so ever and UPS can’t give an estimate on their tracking site. Hopefully I’ll get my laptop next week!

Your original estimate was a singlr date and not a range? Which model did you order and when did you order? Where is it being shipped to?
It might have been a range - I just can’t remember it.
13” MBP, base but with 16 GB RAM. Shipped to EU. I placed my order on May 21st.
Is your order stuck on an Export Scan from Shanghai? I ordered the same config. and mines still at export.
I also ordered a MBP 16" base model. Was shipped on the 26th of May, passed customs in Shanghai and was then stuck in Shanghai. I had the same notice as some others had on their Apple order status, that I should contact support. I did, but they just told be to wait. Now it finally moved and it arrived in Incheon, SK earlier today.
Delivery estimate at purchase was 4-9/6, but then UPS displayed 28/5 so I was hoping for the best. Seems like Apple's initial estimate is accurate. I really hope I'll get it this next week.

so i've ordered a Macbook Pro 13 2020 base model with an upgrade to 16gb ram
and few days ago i also got the message that the shipping was on hold, but today it arrived in cologne via seoul. so i will receive it in a few days from UPS.
So just relax and wait a little bit, i guess it's because of the current situation
TAKE NOTE THEY HAVE INCREASED THE PRICE FOR THE RAM UPGRADE TO 250€ here in Germany, luckily i've ordered it earlier.

Same for me, it showed June 18th as specific date ever since the order has been in “Processing” state. Actually that’s the last day of my delivery window announced when ordering the machine, so I assume they just put the worst case date there.
Ordered the i7 10th Gen / 32 GB / 1 TB / US Keyboard to Germany on May 20th. (Previously ordered 16 GB / 512 GB on 12th but decided to go with the higher config and also found out that I‘m eligible for a company discount via my employer.)
I’ve been “kind-of-charged” on Friday (they reserved the full amount on the credit card) and waiting for PFS now. I expect the date to be adjusted at that point.
Whoa that's funny, aside from the models (I ordered the base config 10th gen) we are in the exact same situation. US keyboard version, ordered from Germany, ordered may 20th, reserve amount held around Friday, 18th given as the due date. Soulmates!
I think you'll get it before the 18th. I did the same thing as you; order a machine and then decided to cancel that order and I ordered the exact same as you (i7/32/1tb). I ordered the last one on May 28th and my delivery window is June 12-19. I have not been charged yet.

I've got tracking details but it's bringing up another tracking from the past? Is this normal, do they just recycle tracking numbers? - just hoping i've not got a dodgy return that someones flung back

Update: I've cancelled this order from Apple and reordered from Best Buy as they have $200 off promotion. Ships by June 10. Figured I've waited this long, what's another few days? Still hoping it ships earlier.

Might depend on the company that is doing the shipping. I doubt they would redirect a package because someone cancelled it, I don't think you can cancel once it ships anyways. Wait a few hours and tracking should update. I hope your delivery goes smoothly!
