Update: UPS think they have found my MBP. They delivered it to Amazon of all places (a fulfilment centre). It is sitting in a trailer full of parcels of Amazon stock . So, they need Amazon to unload the trailer and find my parcel, send it back to UPS who will return it to a UPS distribution hub for delivery to me. This could take up to 28 days!

At this point, I may be better asking Apple to ship out a replacement, which could be faster. Apple did say a replacement would "jump the queue" of other BTO machines (i.e. they'd build it faster), but it would still need to be shipped from China.

I understand these are difficult times, but this is pretty incompetent from UPS - delivering my MBP to the black hole of an Amazon warehouse.

Sorry, rant over :)
What an screw up! I'd def let Apple do a 'replacement' order and then ship the other one back. I'd be very nervous about it sitting in a pile, possibly at the bottom of said pile, at Amazon. If you get it before the replacement and everything looks perfect, you can always cancel the replacement. Good luck. Let us know how you make out.

My card was charged Monday, June 1st. I got an email from Apple on Wednesday saying it was shipped with a delivery date of June 11th according to Apple and UPS shows June 9th. Original date for delivery was June 12-18.

I am in the US in Ohio

Well I guess the issues in Louisville, KY are going to cause issues for me. I just checked and while Apple still says June 11th, UPS now shows no date for delivery! That is scary. We shall see what transpires.

Thank you. I do feel better having got it off my chest. Comments like yours reassure me that I'm right to be a bit peeved by all this.

One thing I've been wondering about (and perhaps someone here may have experience of) is the duration of AppleCare+ that I have on the MBP. It started on May 29th, when the machine shipped so expires May 29, 2023. Given that I may not see my machine until the end of June, I feel like the least Apple could do is extend the coverage to take account of the "lost" days while UPS try to sort their act out.

Has anyone successfully had their AppleCare+ extended in the case of a seriously delayed shipment?

Just contact Apple Care they will adjust the date, it happened to me when I had an iPad become undeliverable because Apple had entered an incorrect shipping address on the package, invoice address was correct but somehow shipping wasn't

Ranting more than authorised!
When I ordered a 15" MBP a number of years ago (first gen with TB3), it arrived with 2 of the thunderbolt ports not working. They were able to expedite a new build, and I seem to recall, they setup a new AC+ (its against the machine, so since it was a new build...)

I hate the waiting. It's been a day and a half since my card was charged and it's still "Processing"

I'm right there with you, albeit i'd rather they did that a day early to allow any issues to be solved (in case of bank security issues) than just trashed the order. Or maybe they've had a few "queue jumps" which for antipodean's sake I can understand.

Ordered For my Fiance

Yeah. For most people it seems like the order status changes within two days so I'm hoping there's gonna be some movement on this today.

Thank you. Yes, spoke to Apple first line support agent again today and will apparently get a call from his manager within two days to arrange an expedited replacement. The agent assured me that the AppleCare+ start date would be adjusted: "absolutely no question".

Hope my expedited replacement won't delay anyone here's order. At least the one that UPS dropped off at the Amazon warehouse might eventually provide some nice pristine stock for the Apple refurb store :)

Hi my MBP 13" 2020 10th gen shipped on June 1st from China. On June 2nd it was cleared for export and due for delivery in my country on June 4th. Since June 3rd the shipment is stuck in Shanghai with no updates and the delivery date has disappeared.
Anyone has been experiencing this?
How long do usually shipments remain stuck in Shanghai before leaving China?
Thanks!

It looks like there's a periodic processing in shanghai. If you're lucky, it's in and straight out, but if unlucky, you wait for the next "export processing" (or maybe its the next plane?).
See earlier in this thread where people have seen "stuck, contact support etc", to be told by support dont worry its on its way.

Personally I think I'll take "dispatched" with a pinch of salt, and wait a couple of days before worrying about where UPS are. Its not like i'm going anywhere anyway :)

ps. for me - still "processing". They charged (or preauth'd? Unclear?) on tuesday 2nd.

Mine sat in Shanghai for 3 days after release from the customs agency. Not sure if that is typical. Once it left Shanghai it moved pretty quickly. At least until UPS delivered it to the wrong place, but that's another story.

As screwy as things are these days it may wind up being delivered to you

thanks everybody for the replies. I imagined something like this. I hope it will just be 3 days like happened to @antipodean (and I'm really sorry to hear that UPS misdelivered your package).
Thank you. Not to worry, worse things happen at sea. It's just frustrating that something so expensive and eagerly anticipated should go AWOL whereas I routinely get all sorts of things delivered without problem (e.g. by Amazon Prime) that I really wouldn't mind waiting for.

Update: I've cancelled this order from Apple and reordered from Best Buy as they have $200 off promotion. Ships by June 10. Figured I've waited this long, what's another few days? Still hoping it ships earlier. :)

Talked to customer service at Best Buy. Since the product page now shows Sold Out, they won't be shipping it until they are restocked. Guess I'll be waiting some more. Seems shady that they let you order even when they don't have enough in stock to fulfill orders..

So my machine was shipped via UPS on June 2nd and is stuck in Shanghai since then. UPS initially announced delivery for tomorrow (Friday 5th) as promised with their World Express Saver service, but today it went into 'Exception' with a 'tentative' delivery date of Monday 8th.

Had an export scan on 3rd at 1:20 pm, now the last status update was from 9:23 CST today with "Your package is in transit. We're updating plans to schedule your delivery. / The package will be forwarded to a UPS facility in the destination city.". No clue what's happening now. Basically no movement at all since more than 24 hours. So disappointing.

In similar time frames DHL usually ships around the whole world from door to door. And the MacBook is just chilling in some warehouse apparently.

Major weird as I have about the same tracking and mine is in Japan scheduled for Tuesday, June 9th delivery.
