Might want to check your credit card and also your order on the Apple site. I had the same happen and my credit card company denied the charge thinking it was a fraudulent. I had to confirm with CC that it was legitimate and also 'update' my payment info on the order page on Apple's site.
I'd hope this wasn't the case, as I purchased it with apple pay on my apple card. I'll double check with them though, thanks.
I actually called earlier and it’s normal. The guy said we only got charged for the shipping and said not to worry they will reach out if there is any issue if it’s declined or stopped for any reason. The full charge will hit as soon as it goes into shipping mode. Making me very restless.
That made me chuckle. For all of our sakes and not yours, lets hope that's true so you can post about it. We can then laugh about how you forgot to put the MacBook in your basket 🤣
I just chatted with support as well. They said the same. He told me it should ship out in the next 3-5 days, so we shall see. If that's the case I imagine I should at least get the "preparing for shipment" and charge in the next 2-4 days. Probably looking at delivery mid/late next week then which is right in their projection of May 14-18.
just took delivery of the 10 gen, i5, 16gb 512 in Texas. The keyboard is awesome.
Same! Just received the same exact model and I'm loving it. I'm coming from a MBA 2012, but I can't really tell the difference in keyboard. The touchbar will take some getting used to, since apparently I used to rest my left hand fingers along the F-key row.
My order went from original delivery of May 14-20 via Apple at time of purchase, to delivery on Wednesday May 13th once it was marked "Shipped" via Apple, to Monday May 11th via UPS once they had it and just this afternoon, to Friday, May 7th. Wow!
Kudos to both Apple and UPS for being on their games during a global pandemic.
Ive had my friends 2019 13” side by side when I got my first and second 16. It’s not amazing neither, but it was tolerable compared to the 16” for me. And by tolerable I mean not ideal, but not bad enough for me to wait *another* 6 months. Given there are no screen changes this refresh it feels like a safe bet to assume it’s the same panel 🤙
Nice. Took delivery of the identical model in Chicago. It’s great. This one is a keeper. Too bad it isn’t offered in Gold like the Air, though. I really like that color.

I like the TouchBar. It isn’t a necessity (I still have and like my 2017 12” MacBook), but the TouchBar comes in handy.
I'm wishing I got one of the standard models just so I could have gotten mine faster, but at this point, re-ordering won't make a difference in speed. So patience it is. I expect some movement by mid- next week.
It will be worth the wait. This is a nice machine. And just think you’ll have a faster MacBook Pro than the rest of us early adopters for a lot longer.
Apple was quoting me a 5/14-5/18 delivery while UPS was telling me my Mac was on a truck 1/2 mile from my condo, so hopefully you’ll get yours soon, as well!
Yeah, I know. That's why I won't complain. I know the drill with Apple. I do hope it will come a little sooner, but that remains to be seen.
On the bright side, I have a refurb 2019 13" to hold me over for a bit - it shipped last Friday so it was too late to cancel the order when the announcement came on Monday. So I'm getting reacquainted with macOS after nearly 3 years away while I wait.

At least you got charged for it... My order (May 4th, 8th gen 16/512) is not charged yet and still processing...
