Yeah, from watching the highlights of the Miami v Buffalo game it was clear that Miami are still a bit lightweight… turning over the ball under pressure, the offence wasn’t able to keep up against a good secondary, and the defence wasn’t able to stop a good offence.

I stumbled upon this and thought it was funny, and sad at the same time - sorry bears fans

So, should Bill Bellichick leave the Patriots? It’s been a few years since Brady left, and the Patriots have done a great big nothing. But, BB has made strange coaching decisions, hasn’t drafted particularly well, and they have done very little in trade. It seems to me that maybe he should stand down gracefully and let a younger coach try and rebuild the franchise, before he is fired.

Of course, firing BB is a hard thing to do. Under him the Patriots went through the greatest period in club history. But was that because BB was great, or because Brady was great? Brady went out and got a Super Bowl with another team after he left the Patriots, while BB has languished. And however good BB was, it looks to me like he isn’t a shadow of his former self anymore.

Time, I think, for the Patriots to end the BB era.

Its funny you posted this, I literally was just talking to a friend about this. I think Mariucci said this, or was told this. All coaches have expiration dates. No matter how good you are, how connected you may be with the players there will be a time to go. I think the game has passed on BB, along with hubris (trying to control everything).

Couple that with the Mac Jones not being a good fit for the team, or the NFL.

There was chatter that BB was on the hot seat this year and while measurement for success changed, due to the resurgence of Mia and buffalo (and at one point the jets), its clear the team is going no where. I wasn't expecting a win yesterday, but they didn't even show up - 53 yards rushing, Mac Jones had 150 yards passing with 2 INTs

I definitely think its time to move on

Ah good, I’m not alone in thinking this! I reckon it’s perfectly fine to give him a chance or two after the franchise quarterback leaves, but he hasn’t looked like he is doing a good job rebuilding the team. Looking at it bluntly the Pats are not competitive in a range of areas, from WR to QB to defence. And yesterday they managed to score all of 3 pts, it’s not encouraging when you consider the Cowboys were expected to be a mid-level team this year.

The refs worked hard to make sure Travis Swift's team won that one.
It's a conspiracy...

He should have left with Brady. It was clear back then that he would need a couple of years to rebuild the team and don't forget Brady's last season with the Patriots was a disaster. The old Patriots had a great team. Brady, Gronk, Edelmann, Amendola, Mitchell, Hogan, Hightower, Chung, there were always great players in the team. Now they have nothing. That's likely due to their "we don't pay you well, we win SBs instead!" attitude.

They need to get their act together and get better players. It's no Bellichick, it's the team itself. It is his job to get the players though.

But this season seems to be a little odd, many good teams struggle, while otherwise performing very well. Cowboys, Bills, Chiefs, Dolphins. They all took losses or close games no one expected. Patriots almost won vs Eagles, that was a close one.

:) Say what you want, but that last call on the Jets interception was atrocious.

I don't think Bill B the coach gets fired. But they need a GM, because the players Bill brings in aren't doing it.

I watched it a couple of times and still have no idea what happened there. Pass by Mahomes to Valdes-Scantling (#11), then a flag at the spot of the potential interception. Officially it was a defensive holding by #11. Only #11 was nowhere near that spot, offensive #11 was there. So it was either a holding on offense #11 by a defensive player or a holding by #11 that wasn't shown on camera... but why was a flag thrown at the spot of the potential interception when it happened at the line of scrimmage?

Much turmoil in NY, both the giants and jets are failing to live up to the hype. I will say that the giants really messed up, they should have given Jones the 5th year option for little money, but instead they didn't and he had a decent year last year with one great game at the end. That translated into $$ for him, but I don't think he's worth that high price.

Zack Wilson had a good game this week, and the Jets still lost. I have my doubts if Rodgers would have really put them over the top. The Giants had a fluke year last year and over-rated. Though I'm surprised at how bad they got. Again, like with the Jets And Rodgers, i don't think Barkley will make a huge difference.

ELEVEN SACKS?? Why was Jones still in the game? And Dabble was NOT happy. I was embarrassed for him. (auto-correct won't let me spell the coaches name correctly).

IMO, the Giants over achieved last year. I expected them to be a 6 win team last year. I did not expect them to make it to the Divisional round. Outside of Barkley, I couldn't name a single Giant last year. This year I can name Daniel Jones too, but only because his mediocrity is blasted over the media.😑
This year's Giants are playing at the level I expected of last year's team. It sucked that the lost out on a top 10 draft pick for over achieving.

That dude was a stud and possible one of the best linebackers to play the game! Especially during that time. Ruthless to say the least.

RIP Mr. Butkus.

And amazingly, he (and Gale Sayers) never played in a single playoff game. That's almost unbelievable.

And here I was thinking that the Saints didn’t look like a great team this year. The patriots keep getting worse…
Saints have been playing decently. A lot better than the Broncos too, what was Sean Payton thinking coming out of retirement for that.

I did not expect the Cowboys being destroyed by the 49ers... not like that. I thought it would be a much, much closer game.

Rams vs Eagles was closer than the final score would suggest. Eagles are still 5-0, but they already struggled against the Patriots and whenever the Eagles struggle, there seem to be a lot of injuries/facemasks on the other team. Also, that tush push needs to go next season. This isn't Rugby and it's as boring as it gets, particularly when they do it multiple times, play after play. They're playing the Dolphins in two weeks and I can already see them tush pushing 100 yards down the field.
