Talking of Purdy, what does it mean to be a “game manager” as a QB? Is it just the range of throws, where a really good QB can perform quick judgments and accurate throws to a long way out, and someone who is just a “game manager” plays within his limits without being exceptional?

Yes?

It means that he isn't capable of elevating the players around him. Houston has a Who's That? collection of WR, yet they're getting multiple games with 100+ receiving yards thanks in a large part to the play of CJ Stroud. The same can be said about Rodgers, Mahomes or any of the top 5 QB in the league.

A game manager will give you consistent play, which means win or lose will mainly be contingent on the surrounding talent. Look at when the Niners had that 3 game skid. Their best skill players were injured. Once those players came back, Niners started dominating again.

Wow, the refs worked hard to give Dallas every chance to stop Seattle's TD at the end of the half.

Side note, tired of seeing sideline timeouts. TO's should only be callable from players on the field, where everyone can clearly see it. Not from a coach 20 yards behind the players, who can't see it's being called. Same about icing kicker nonsense.

Glad to see the Cowboys squeeeeeek one out...

Looking forward to the Niners vs Eagles game. Should be very interesting to see who comes out ahead on this one.
They beat my Seahawks  (tbh I'm not that invested in them this year...sort of a fair weather fan I guess). For a Thursday Prime game, that was a pretty good one. The officiating was terrible and I don't say that because of sour grapes, I say it because it is true. I really expected the Cowgirls to whomp Seattle so I was pleasantly surprised when the 'Hawks held there own and almost beat Dallas.

I have the same thing with my sports teams, I like to see them win a fair amount. My dad and me, we have the Boston connection and so back the Patriots a bit, but now that the team is doing so badly we don’t follow the games so closely.

The thing is, I like to see sports played well. With round-ball football it’s the same thing, I follow the top teams and watch the Champions League from time to time because of the skill, it’s The Beautiful Game, as they say in Brazil.

In American Football it’s the incredible catches the receivers pull off, for me that’s the highlight, the skill players doing their thing. I don’t care so much for the struggle of the offensive and defensive lines.

So that’s what happens when the Eagles play the 49ers with an actual QB in the game and not a RB as a backup.

They were actually crying… I guess they took “cry Eagles cry” literally. Even the refs were not able to win it for the Eagles this time.

Some surprises yesterday… the Niners winning convincingly at the Eagles, the Packers winning at home over the Chiefs. Especially Mahomes throwing an interception on the key final drive, sheesh. And the Texans and CJ Stroud winning against the Bronco’s, that was a close game between teams with identical records trying for the postseason.

I have no dog in this fight, but I wouldn't get too cocky here... These teams are probably going to face off in the playoffs and even though the Eagles got punched in the mouth yesterday they're still a great all around team.

They certainly were involved in a lackluster game yesterday...

I am soooo glad to see the Chiefs lose. That was icing on the cake for this weekends round of football. That tells me the Chiefs are beatable and I think there are maybe one or two teams in the AFC that can beat them!

Of course the Eagles can still win, they've showed that in the past. They also have quite a bit of help.

They and especially their fans deserve every loss. Let's hope they're not going to injure any players along the way to win a game. Sirianni told his team to make this whole thing a personal and we saw what happened on the field as a result.
Not a Chiefs fan by any means but they were totally hosed by that no call pass interference. Very obvious the refs blew it.
Refs are getting worse from season to season as it seems. It's time for more independent refs (off-field) and a ton of AI driven cameras in addition to the refs. When games are decided by refs and not players, especially in important games (playoffs), something is very wrong.

To clarify, this is why they deserve every loss:

Wouldn't be surprised if they upgrade their sideline...
DiSandro should be removed from the NFL. It should be about the sport and not his "business/mafia" connections. And many of their fans supporting it speaks volumes.

And of course someone had to do it 😂

That game was 90% a win for the Defense. Stroud got harrassed all day and sacked multiple times. The Texans D tighten up during the final quarter to keep DangeRuss from going wild. Even at his age, the guy is slipperier than an eel in an oil slick. He evaded so many near sacks to make plays.
The second pick by Stingley was 😲😲😲 incredible.

IMO, the Ravens is the team to beat in the AFC. They clobbered two NFC division leaders [at the time] by over 30 points. Of course, they're kicking (_!_) all over the AFC as well. I'm betting on a Ravens vs Niners SB.

13Bye

As you can see they haven’t yet played many top teams from the AFC yet, the Dolphins, the Chiefs, the Bills, even the Jaguars… It looks to me like they are benefitting from a pretty soft schedule.

But hey, they play the Jaguars in week 15, the Niners in week 16, and the Dolphins in week 17 so that should show us what they are made of.

I don't blame refs (other than a snide joke here or there), they are human. Why can Jalen Hurts be the leading candidate for MVP, despite 13 or 14 turnovers, yet the refs are expected to be 100 percent perfect all the time?
