Not really. Say you're 4th and inches, do you punt the ball and take a loss or force a QB sneak with a high risk of injury? The 49ers did exactly that, which resulted in a concussion for Purdy, a loss of the game and another loss the next game. All because they wen't for that QB sneak and injured Purdy in the process.
They could always put the QB2 in for the obvious QB sneak. Or have the RB take the snap--a Wildcat QB sneak.😉 If it's 4th and inches in a close game, it's worth the risk. If it's a blowout, why bother?

That's not what I said. I said rather take a loss than take high risk of injury. That's different from not winning on purpose. In a SB or playoff game, they have to take every chance, even if there's a 75% chance someone will get hurt. In a regular season game, that's just not worth it unless you're fighting for the playoffs.

hmmm not really.

Playing a sub and accepting the result either way isn't fixing but you were clearly talking about not winning on purpose and that is abhorrent.

And I know it does happen, but it shouldn't.

And the Seahawks beat the Eagles. Maybe a lack of motivation on the Eagles part?

Anyone annoyed by the huge number of commercials near the end of the first half? The last two minutes took almost 20 minutes actual time. Every break in the action or timeout, they went to commercial. And not just a 30 second spot. A full two or three minutes.

I feel like we experience this every NFL game. I didn't notice it being any more annoying this time around... I guess because I'm so used to it... I've started going on my phone or ipad during commercial breaks now so i guess I don't notice the time as much.

Yep, it is quite annoying.

By halftime (which was only approximately 1900 here) I was having trouble keeping my eyes open so I was welcoming the commercials. Regularly, however, they are QUITE annoying and as was said, they look for ANY excuse to go to break. (And usually those breaks feature Mahomes and crew...but I won't get started on THAT.) :)

Now that is getting a bit annoying... Seeing Mahomes and his kermit the frog voice every other commercial is getting a little annoying..... There are other great NFL players that these advertisers can choose from my gosh.

Don't forget the Kelce Bros and their mom too.

Though, to be fair...I did like Andy Reid's nuggies commercial.

3 games on Christmas day this year?

Do you know how much crap I'm going to take from my wife about this? lol.

And yes, I want the RAIDERS to win. No thanks to tanking/fixing. I don't care about the draft because our stupid staff will squander the picks anyway.

Good. I don't like basketball and it seems Christmas day was NBA day. Glad I'll have some football to watch.

So you're saying The Darnold can be 'sneaky' athletic. Down for that

Don't give CMC any ideas... he'll put his body through anything. We need him healthy to get the final prize.

I know the NBA has to be pissed about this... christmas was their marquee day for sure... But the NFL will absolutely crush their ratings.

Not that anyone cares, but after winning the championship last year, and starting a dour 1-5 this year, my fantasy football team powered on to multiple victories, to gain the 4th and final playoff spot, despite a 7-8 record.

Alas, my best WR, Jamarr Chase, will be out. Tyler Lockett in :)

Yeah, I have to say though the Rams are showing signs of life, Cooper Kupp doesn’t look really sharp yet, and to be at their best they need him to be sharp. Puka Nacua had a good game though.
