The new NFL season is rapidly approaching, and the best laid plans of mice and men will be put to the test.

According to one set of odds, the Eagles, Ravens, Bills, and Chiefs, in that order, have the best chance of hoisting the Lombardi at season end.

Have at it, boys and girls…

Oh noes. Trouble in NFC East.

#1 receiver on the Commanders wants to be paid, or out. So much for the good feelings on a rising team.

Arguably the best player on the Cowboys didn't get paid, and wants out. C'mon Jerry, don't be cheap and show him the money. You took care of the boys on offense, but won't win a ring without a defense.

So Micah Parsons is now demanding a trade and his long explanation is quite embarressing and damning to the cowboys franchise. One of the biggest issues, is that Jerry tried to circumvent the agent and negotiate with the player directly. To the detriment of Parsons, he fell into that trap and did talk money, but his saving grace is that he said his agent would pick up the negotiations

I don't understand how Jerry can get away with this, he's done this before, and the NFLPA seems to let it slide.

Either way, the issue has gotten a lot more stickier for the cowboys and Jerry either needs to get off the pot or take a piss. Pay Micah or move him.

This is Jerry's M.O. He loves the drama, but then he is forced to pay, or more likely in his case, overpay them. One of these times, he is going to lose.

He does love to be the center of attention, but I think he pushed the needle too. far with Micah at this point. His antics costs the team millions. they could have locked Dak and Lamb for a lot less if they were proactive. As it stands, Dak will getting paid 50 million this year, and 70+ million per year for 2026 through 2028.

That's a significant percentage of the salary cap tied up for one player. Add in Steele and Lambs' contract we're looking at 89 million this year and 130 million and next year for those three players.

Micah will get paid by the cowboys, and to be real if i was him id play off my last year and then just leave screw the $ is you feel disrespected, money will be made next year

Why isn't the NFLPA getting involved in this situation

Jones reiterated he and Parsons reached an agreement on a deal in March when they met in the owner's office. In his social media post, Parsons said the visit was supposed to be about leadership and Jones turned it to the contract.

The fact remains he is circumventing the CBA, but there seems to be little noise, or issues from the NFLPA over this
NFLPA Contract Advisor Regulations, Section 3(A), state:

“No club may negotiate directly with a player who is represented by a certified Contract Advisor, unless the player has provided written notice to the NFLPA and the club that the player is terminating or suspending the agent's authority.”

I read something to that effect, that any news is good news for the Cowboys, but it makes little sense to me.

Texas is probably the most football-hungry state in the country, and an easy sell that doesn't need such weird tactics.

I don't have the mindset of a pro athlete, but Parsons should just be patient and play out the last year of his contract. As good as he is, he'll get paid next year, and have his pick of suitors.

I suspect Trey Lance is happy to be out of Dallas. I'm not sure there's much of a future with the Chargers as anything but a backup option.....but I suspect the job pays enough to keep him hoping for better luck.

Jerry Jones is a major distraction for the Cowboys, players and coaches, especially the head coach. The team needs to be the center of attention, not the egotistical owner.

I have said this since Jimmy Johnson was coach. The team that I love and follow is now regulated to having an "Al Davis style owner" of the Cowboys.

So patriots unveiled a tom brady statue - not sure how I feel about it. I'm from boston, and remember the dark times, the times in the 1970s and 1980s, where they were not just bad, but embarrassingly so. Yet having a statue, seems odd to me. Its veery news worthy and there seemed to be a lot of people at the unveiling, so while this may not have struck a chord with me, it has with others.

In other news, looks like Sander's did very well in his debut, good for him. I'm not a browns or a sanders fan, but hey he's making the most of his opportunity. I do think we'll see him as a starter at some point in the regular season

We'll see on that. I wouldn't really mind if the guy makes it, but preseason can be a very poor indicator of a guy's abilities. I remember Skylar Thompson lighting up the preseason his rookie year (and then the debacle in Buffalo in the playoffs...) :(

Now I am skeptical by nature.
