Very nice guy.

At least the cowboys lost. The mantra of "This is the season" from cowboys fans must have an empty echo at this point. All is not lost for them, its still too early, but the same old script of prior years seems to be playing out on them.

My fuzzy recollection is that Brady, a late round pick, only got the opportunity to start because due to Bledsoe's injury. I don't recall when that occurred, or how many games Brady played after taking the helm.

Was Bledsoe done even if the Pats had not won the Tuck game?
Bledsoe had a near-death hit on the second game of the 2001 season by a Mo Lewis hit that flattened him. Brady was in his second year and got the start but still took a bit to find the rhythm (the team was ascending no matter what).

Bledsoe had just signed the biggest contract in NFL history, had taken the Pats to Super Bowl XXXI where he threw 4 INT to 2TD in a loss that was bad but not Super Bowl XX bad.

The Pats were 0-2 with Bledsoe, and ended up 11-5 that year. Defense was HUGE, but the fact that Bledsoe played in the AFC championship as Brady got hurt early in that game (the one AFTER the Tuck Rule game) ... and Belichick had the choice but went with Brady says that Bledsoe was pretty much done.

And looking at Bledsoe after he left you can see that he was pretty much done. He was clearly a great quarterback who hit his peak getting into the Super Bowl, and aside from that is better known for 'putting up gaudy numbers' ... very much a lesser version of Dan Marino.

Wentz is out for the season with shoulder surgery. Not sure what Minn will do as they need a new backup

They could go full developmental-mode like the Browns and run Bromser as the backup. A true rookie backing up a redshirt rookie. Adding a veteran QB to the practice squad would be wise, though, just in case the bottom completely falls out and the more veteran stars on the team start getting impatient.

They should trade for Sheduer... (sp?)

The problem exists only where Wentz plays
Remember when he came into the NFL, he was talked about how Mahomes is talked about now. Then, he got injured and he was never even remotely the same as before. I feel for the guy.
I hated how that traded away Jim Plunkett and he became a super bowl winner with the raiders.
I was sssooooo happy.:D
(Sorry to dredge that up, Raiders fans)
Thank you for being sorry.
My fuzzy recollection is that Brady, a late round pick,
He was the last pick.

Questions: With Pennick (was hoping the Raiders would get him) and the offense that the Falcons have why no offense? Coach and offensive play caller sleeping?

When did it become a thing for DB's to stop trying to intercept a pass but would rather have their face in the receiver's chest and not turn around?

Why are my beloved Raiders so bad!!!!! 😭 Please, do not answer lol.

I wonder how history might have been different if not for the Tuck Rule. Would Brady and the Pats followed the same path?

I remember watching at the time and reacting the way Harry Vanderspiegel of Resident Alien did…that is some BS.

(Sorry to dredge that up, Raiders fans)
Same though.

Also not a Pats fan by any stretch but I did fear for Steve Grogan's life in SB XX...

Penix - Sorry I am that guy - I'd have been happy to have him or Bo Nix but I still think we needed to draft every OL we could find.

We are bad because we can't block for our QB or RBs and we don't tackle as much as we should. lol

With the Dolphin's GM now gone, and presumably their coach at the end of the season - how will the rebuilding process look for Miami? Hint not great

Looking at the cap numbers, and all things being equal, they're already over the cap by 11 million dollars for 2026, obviosuly that will change once the 2026 cap number becomes available.

Tua's contract is a huge anchor around the dolphin's neck. He has a fully guaranteed contract in 2026, I don't see any way of them moving on from him next season, and I don't see them trading for a better QB, given their cap balance for 2026. I believe Tyreek Hill is all but gone, either retiring, or being cut (or both). There's no way that the dolphins will keep him on the books with nearly a 52 million dollar cap hit

Just saw a headline on the yahoo page( I think it was their page) that read, something to the effect of, "Flacco and Chase don't blame the defense for latest decline..." or some such... no duh Joe, maybe it was the two INTs you threw...

What do you all think about the NFL allowing them to use their own balls now and not out of the box balls. Vic Fangio said that these records should have an asterick because of the change.

The new record is a 68 yard field goal, I believe the kicker had kicked the ball from his own 42 yard line (not sure about this). Seems crazy, and personally I don't like it. When you can kick a field goal from your own side of the field something's wrong.

As a fan whose team fell victim to this, I actually am ambivalent. I think the offense should definitely be able to do this and maybe they are now a days...

What did you think about the Broncos coming back in the 4th to win the game with yet another FG? I wanted them to win for my daughter's morale (she's having a rough time atm) but I almost felt sorry for the Texans. Bo Nix couldn't hit his a$$ with both hands (18/37) and the team didn't have ONE TD. (*I came back to say I need a correction - Denver did have TWO TDs, it was the Oilers who scored by FGs. That changes my final sentence a bit.). The winning score wasn't representative of the whole game for sure.

I want Bo Nix to do well so, even as a RAIDER fan, I was happy for them.

I didn't see the game but the box score is telling. Looks like the game wouldn't be considered a offensive shootout. I think its more about the Texans unable to find the end zone, then the Broncos playing great. I like Bo Nix and want him to succeed. I'm not a huge fan of Sean Peyton
