So you can only hear the red cows? I am sure the herd sound great, seeing the herd is better than hearing the herd surely???

Beef Cattle all vocalize in a very similar way. Although one could make the comparison to, say, the internal sounds from the ERS in the McLaren vs the Red Bull. Very similar, yet unique to the entity. The Red Angus is uncommon on this side of the pond. It's origins are in Europe. Specifically Scotland and it's Aberdeen Angus. They are slightly less stressed from the hotter weather as well due to their lighter color than the Black Angus. They would be more popular here in the colder climates of the US were it not for their smaller population. It's more difficult to find and maintain good breeding stock. So, costs involved can be prohibitive for smaller operations. My neighbor has 800 head. Just large enough to be operational.

So, IMO, yes, I enjoy their appearance more than their sound. Thanks for asking........ ;)

Any Beef Cattle will do. An Ox is simply a castrated male (generally to enable a more agreeable work nature.) I enjoy a good Ox Tail Stew as well. It’s an under appreciated meal on this side of the pond…..😉

We call them steers. But "steer tail stew" doesn't have quite the same ring. :)

Aha, now I know why the conversation ibetween Max and Toto is taking so long. I bet that one of the conditions is that George and Toto enable a more agreeable work nature :p

I think the negotiations are done with the exception of what Max is allowed to drive while under contract. I don't see Mercedes being as flexible as Red Bull has been. I don't see how all the Red Bull tie-ins with verstappen.com racing can't be an issue here.

I just can't see Max doing a Franz Hermann with Toto. Maybe I'm off base? The Circus will be wild this weekend....;)

I forget, but I seem to recall that the old farts in stinky suits at the FIA are the ones that get to say yay/nay to contracts, there is some sort of clown convention that rules on contracts.. So although Minimum might want this or that in his contract, the drones at the FIA might kybosh his contract..

You may be thinking of the FIA Contract Recognition Board. The CRB was formed after Michael Schumacher agreed to drive for Benetton in 1992 even though he had agreed to discuss a contract with Eddie Jordan (with whom he was currently racing for).

They only get involved if there is an issue about the legality of a contract or if there is a dispute between two F1 teams on a driver's contract (examples include Jenson Button in 2004, Timo Glock in 2007 and Oscar Piastri in 2022).

If Max's exit clause is triggered this year or next, the CRB would have no grounds to get involved if he signed for another team. Also if Max's contract does have a buyout clause and that amount is paid to Red Bull to sever his contract, that also would negate the CRB's involvement.

Why would Minimum want to drive for the red cows now in 2025? He might as well just retire, then un retire 1/1/2026. Pull a Schumacher.. His car guru is long gone, his team daddy is fired.. Maybe the team don't like him.. Like Mario Kart Donkey racers clearly have a sulk with Lewis..

We will see what happens, but to stay makes absolutely no sense.. This is a dead season, kind of like we have this crazy in certain tennis, where you have singles then a doubles on day 3, and by then it is dead rubber, has no point, this season has no point, so Mclaren win, PastryPies wins a WDC, in a season that no one cares about, about regs that are so old even the pdf has mould.. When everyone is focused on 2026.. New teams, new cars, new new...

That Minimum did not walk out same day as Chris, strange.. there is nothing for him at RB.. nothing..

I saw an article that explored the idea of Antonelli being loaned out to Alpine to make way for Verstappen at Mercedes which doesn't seem completely absurd, Kimi could spend a couple of seasons getting his experience, and Mercedes could have 2 drivers capable of podiums and wins consistently. I do think binning George would be incredible at this point, seeing as he's having a decent season, but then I also think although Max is an amazing talent and possibly the only driver capable of being on a Lewis Hamilton level, I hope Toto makes clear early on, that Jos is not to meddle in the politics in that team.

Mimimum n George? Insane idea, we thought 44 and 1 trick was a bad idea... Minimum as 1st/George 1st.. Nah, never... No way daddy Minimum will settle for less than Number 1... And George will not take a number 2.. Maybe for $300m a year..

I'm sure Jos's personality is the largest concern. Verstappen.com and Max being Franz Hermann also. I don't see Toto being as flexible as to what Max can test during the regular season......

Maybe Red Bull will simply renegotiate Max with a huge increase in salary and he will race till 2028 then become a Team Owner in GT3 and beyond........? ;)

Toto quoted today, “there will be no big surprises” when asked for a Max update.

Good enough for me. Max at Red Bull in 2026. George’s contract will reveal if 2027 is still doable……

While I am more inclined to believe Max will stay at Red Bull rather than switch to Mercedes, if he did, I could see Max and Toto waiting until, say, the Dutch Grand Prix to make that announcement as it would probably play very well with the Orange Army at home.

I think Max will stay where he is for 2026 and see how the new regs play out. No guarantee that Mercedes will be better than RBR then. Too many variables.

I suspect he will also want to see what post Horner RBR is like and if he is happier there. If the 2026 car looks like a lemon and Mercedes looks good, he knows he can get a seat there any time he chooses.

During Media Today at Spa, Max did say he was informed directly by Red Bull Gmbh CEO Oliver Mintzlaff that Horner was going to be let go and that the two did discuss team operations and plans, though Max declined to offer any details or hints.

Was a textbook Max interview. Just enough without really saying anything. George seems significantly more upbeat this weekend. Max will be in the RB22 for at least one more season.

Telling a driver that a key senior member of staff is going to be sacked before they are actually sacked just goes to show how much power Max has at Red Bull because that sort of thing is unheard of (unless the person has power).

So unless it snows, looks like Piastri has the weekend locked-up based on his dominance in the sole practice session.

Not a good thing to admit as a driver finding out a more senior member is being sacked, just demonstrates unprofessionalism and is practically unheard of in F1. Drivers are never bigger than the team and even the likes of Mansell, Prost and Senna were never allowed to believe that. Let’s hope Max is staying long term if they are allowing that level of power.

*If* Christian was one of the (main) reasons Max was considering leaving the team, I can understand why the CEO would want to have a chat with him about it and how that might impact his staying or leaving.

Also, whereas Dietrich Mateschitz was completely content to let Red Bull Racing operate without any oversight from Corporate, Mintzlaff is said to be quite involved in the team's operations and decisions and this was a "pressure point" between he and Horner, who was used to running the team without any interference.

So, again, I could see why Mintzlaff might want to talk to Max about a major personnel move within team management even if Max's position at Red Bull for 2026 and beyond was secure.
