To understand this better, one needs to understand the Australian psyche! When you become an elite sportsman in Australia, you become akin to the Royal Family, aka the chosen ones, the elite, you've made it, and you are the winner, the rest 'runners-up'.
We are in the lead up to the most famous of 'cricket series', here in Australia, and the past, and present adorned greats, are spouting the usual vitriolic diatribe, to fuel the flames of discord, to attempt to undermine the opposition. Instead of waiting to step onto the playing field, and letting their skills become relevant, they choose to mentally intimidate the opposition, which they call sledging, because they think it's funny.
They know that Piastri is a great, and if he doesn't win anything, it's not his fault, the world will be blamed, and any non Australian victimised, for always being against US.
I don't have a problem with it.

I hate this track. I hope nobody gets hurt here, ever on any track of course, but this one seems to easy to get lazy on and hurt someone.

Be cool if Hadjar snuck around the first three and got a win.

I'll try to enjoy Sainz racing backward again.

I wonder how effective this track would be if we had 4:3 cars? I am pretty sure 16:9 aspect ratio tv is the reason the cars are too big... I wonder if the regs demanded a return back to the go karts Mr Senna and Mr Prost, and Mr Hill junior drove would be better than the land yachts we have now...

Really? I love the track, and not because I'm Dutch, it is just such a wonderful combination of flowing corners, inclines, and speed you can have. Granted, I've only ever raced E30's, 1 series and 911s on there, but it is so much fun. And great location by the North Sea.

It’s going to be interesting to see what/if Max does anything with his extra set of softs. I still think it’s a one stop med/hard race, but they could run some extra fuel if the they tried the softs at some point. Running a higher engine mode longer is the only chance to get near McLaren. Max was impressive on used in qualifying.

If the cars were smaller I'd love it too!

He has done nothing, achieved nothing

So, I think we replace Piastri with you and see how that goes.

I assume you'll at least get a few podiums, at least 8 wins and some pole positions with that kind of diatribe. Given that statement above, it's not unreasonable?

I won't get into typical F1 / sporting fan sledging and jingoism - I haven't won F1 races so it's not my place to judge. I guess I'm not a proper F1 fan.

Anyone with Avro707 in their username is proper as far as I’m concerned…😉
