Funny you say that, as it was exactly what you would do as a new boy, panic, what Pies should have done, is limp back to the pit, slow as molasses, slower than the rocket crawler did in 1969... Slow, then let the PHD's make sense, maybe pit lane start, maybe he was confused, maybe not..

What is not in dispute is that the 2026 regulations are dangerous, Max's crash, 100% failure of a mode or code deep within the system.. Maybe this today with Pies was the same.. I hope not, but I have this feeling we are going to have a fatal in 2026, if the regs are not banned..
Inaccurate. The analyst the Sky use, explained it thoroughly. Your doom and gloom is unwarranted. I get that the regulation changes, you don't like, but this is not scalectrix. and the people who designed it have a clue. It's required aero and motor engineering to lift it's game, with different interpretations already showing that this season is going to be fun.

Run that by me... Russell was DQ as a result of an underweight car.. but how? When during FP and Q sessions the cars are weighed with all 4 tyres on... But the car is weighed after the race without tyres?? They never weighed the tyres post race?? Someone is skyving off maybe??

Nope nothing like that, it was sarcasm at the joke that Sky comms had during the race.. Lewis should either be driver or...Not sure he knows what he wants.. He wants his cake and to eat it as well.. Does he want both jobs??

We saw this movie last year "We will get back to you..." from wall to Lewis.. This year, the same sort of attitude.. Lewis you do the driving, we do the thinking.. But if Lewis wants to do the thinking, pretty sure Ferrari will not be hiring him.. It seems pretty obvious his thoughts are not required.. And 4th is proof.. 1st to 4th, why? Pitstop strategy even the deceased know was wrong..

Pitwall to driver, 'your'e doing well, keep on going', with 8 laps to go! Hamilton's response, is exactly what you'd expect; go away and leave me to drive. If Ferrari had pitted as the others did, fair chance they would have been slightly higher.

So why don't you like Hamilton? Read many posts where you have criticised him over others?

I do agree with Lewis that Ferrari should have pitted one of them at the first VSC, but he also could have said he wanted to come in and he did not. And he also noted later he did not want to pit before Charles because he felt his tires were fine. And we know Charles likes to go as long as he can on his first stint. So is that really a Ferrari strategy failure or them listening to their drivers?

As for the second VSC, it went active after they passed pit entrance and with Bottas' car having to be pushed down the pit lane by the marshals, pit lane was closed until just before the VSC period ended so Ferrari had no chance to pit their drivers.

Not all radio comms get broadcast, and that's the choice of the broadcast team, and sometimes the actual team. Essentially in this case, it appeared he was asking if the right call had been made, but you'll note, he didn't question it.
When he remarked that he didn't want to pit at the same time as Charles, is because he didn't want to have to double stack, with the 2nd driver in (order unsure, as sometimes the higher goes second, for undercutting purposes) getting stacked, and losing time by waiting.

At the end of the day, Ferrari binned it, they had the better car, maybe even the best drivers on the day, but truly awful strategy, Lewis should not be making comments during the race, that is for the de-brief, what Lewis did is no different to a cardiac surgeon mid operation, making suggestions to management about what toilet paper brand to buy.. That surgeon should be banned from medicine, he is not the hospital's toilet paper buyer, he should stick to his job, that is cutting out bad hearts, and putting good ones in...

Lewis should stick to driving, what if at that moment he binned it in the hedge.. It reminds me of that scene in House, where the mom is supplying cough medicine to the sick child, House and his goons cannot figure out why the kid is always sick.. Finally House figures it out.. "It is not fair if you do my job, and I do your job.." "I do the medicine.."

Lewis does the driving, some random Ferrari employee does the strategy... Lewis's man-servant tells Lewis a box full of lies.. Makes Lewis believe the lies..That is just the point, lie to make it work... Lewis should not be making suggestions mid race.. That double stake comment, truly is Lewis that obtuse and a bit of a west anchor to truly think the team would double stack? Lewis thought the team is that thick?? That is cause for concern, that Lewis believes the team is dense.. Yikes..

Congratulations to George on the win. The Mercedes is formidable. Ferrari still doing Ferrari strategy. Impressive starts though. Will they be able to keep that advantage during races? Should have come in on the first VSC. Impressive recovery drive from Max. DOD. Hadjar looks like a hydraulic failure. Nice drive from Lando holding off Max. Will be interesting to watch Max in a race starting up front.

I’m not sure yet if the racing is that good. Sort of reminds me of peloton racing. Listening to the speed die on the straight is still like a root canal.

On to China. Loving my F1TV feed on ATV. May I never be abused by Sky again.

As I work in the OR, and work with Cardio-Thoracic surgeons, I can assure you, and others, that whilst toilet paper may not be mentioned, the conversation can be about absolutely everything, including matters surrounding how the unit/hospital is run. Although invariably, it will be about soccer/australian footy/cricket, or who's banging who!
Again your commentary, is all about the one individual, and it concerns me that you are choosing to focus on him.

Lewis should not be making comments during the race, that is for the de-brief...

If the team is not listening to him in the de-briefs and continuing to make what he feels are mistakes in their strategy calls, then it is smart for Lewis to call them out on it on the World Feed because that will have the Italian media and tifosi put pressure on team management to get their act together.

Enjoyed the race. Especially the start. Really interesting game of car and mouse between George and both Ferrari’s at times before the VSC.

If Ferrari had split the strategy maybe Mercedes don’t get the 1-2. But hard to say.
Max started at the back and made his way all the way up to 6th. Very interesting to see where he’d have been with a 2nd or 3rd row start.

Good showing from this season’s only rookie. He drove a very mature race and went wheel to wheel with those around him.

Reliability was better than expected I think.

The field will close up of course, but Mercedes have won the off season. Now it’s a development race.

I expect Max gained a fair number of places during the first VSC since he started on Hards and did not need to pit. But still, he showed he can still be a threat any given Sunday.

Based on what we saw in Melbourne, I think Suzuka could be interesting if the cars are now narrow enough to be able to pass. Turns 2-14 should favor the Ferrari while the Mercedes should storm from 14 down to 18. Shanghai should generally favor the Mercedes due to all the long straights and sweepers.

Do you think there could even be passing at Monaco? Nah probably not!

You mean last year at Spa?

Why do I bother with your stupid entires?

Yeah, so you don't like Lewis, noted! However Ferrari have long history of issues with strategy, and nepotism.

Put them on ignore. Their posts are incredibly vague and laced with sarcasm that is barely detectable.

I'd let them off the hook about 3/4s of the season through last year but it's back in the sin bin for them.
