Sorry but could I just point out that if you put a second lens to the right this would sit directly behind the front camera and the other Face ID tech in the dynamic island, which wouldn't fit. It is also where the logic board of the phone is. So that's a not starter.

The only way to do it would be to make the plateau larger vertically and add another camera below, but then you're starting to defeat the point of a thin phone. It also would be a significant redesign and I can't see Apple doing that after a year.

Personally I think we'll see a spec bump next September, or even just the current model receiving a price cut. Any redesign will be 2027 at the earliest , if they may just fold it into the redesigned iPhone 18.

I rarely use the ultra wide camera. It would be much better to include a telephoto lens. Pretty much the only reason I couldn’t get the Air this time.

Shame it seems to be pointing towards an ultra wide. I literally never used the ultra wide on any of my iPhone Pro Maxes, but I used the telephoto occasionally.

I don't like crap distorted photos.

I hardly ever use the ultra wide. More of a zoom guy myself.
The thing that convinced me to get the Air was that I found out that almost all my 2x and 3x photos were still taken with the Main Camera, while I was expecting the Telephoto (iOS decides when to use which lens based on lighting conditions). Only if you zoom beyond that a lot, that’s when you will miss the Telephoto lens.

I kept my 15 pro for 2 years. Thought I’d keep my Air for 2 also.

But the second camera would have me tempted, especially since I got a Vision Pro on the way. Spatial photos and videos would be great to take.

That said, a second camera alone wouldn’t be enough for me to upgrade just yet.

While the battery been fine for me, if they added 10-15% battery life improvement then I’d say its major compromises to reviewers are fixed.

So camera + battery = definite case for an upgrade next year.

Speaker remains but is the least important thing given that most people use AirPods and the current speaker is more than enough for scrolling reels and watching YouTube videos.

This news would make a great device perfect for me. Purchased a black iPhone air and LOVE it. Only think I miss is the ultra wide camera. The screen is incredible and, for me, the light weight feel in the pocket is totally worth it when traveling. Battery life is no different from my previous iPhone 15 pro. If they release this rumored version next September, I’d be 100% satisfied.

I dont think so. There are no space for extra camera. It will not be here for the next 3-5 years. Stop scamming people with fake news. Rumor is one thing, fake is another.

They should ditch the USB-C port for another speaker as well.

Unless EU says no of course. 🥱

If they can do it with the Apple watch presumably they can do it with the iPhone.

Thing is that would be yet another, pretty huge, compromise for having the chassis of a phone a couple of mm thinner.

The USB C charging port is, and will always be, superior to wireless/MagSafe charging. It's faster, keeps your phone cooler, more power efficent, universal, smaller, works regardless of whatever case you have on, and you don't have to hold a puck in your hand if using your phone when it's charging.
