Mine arrived from China to Memphis, but now it has a Customs Clearance Delay. Not sure what that means.

I have the same exact thing happening to me. I think it's related to some sort of customs/import issue. Mine is still on track from delivery by 10:30am here in NJ for tomorrow.
If I had to guess, there is probably a giant pallet (or more), with tons of iMac's that will leave from this hub. They probably need some time to sort through the customs paperwork, etc.
Hopefully it leaves TN today, or it may not make it to NJ by the estimated 12/6 date.

Are the iMacs being delivered in their white boxes or are those boxes packed into larger shipping boxes?

Gosh the unboxing process of this baby was quite... umm how should I say this... it's hard not to unbox it in an OCD way. I handled every piece of wraps and films like they're fine pieces of art (like the iMac itself) and put them all back in the original box.
Weeew... the hump at the back is not as huge as I thought it would be. And the Mac looks thin from most angles (including from the back).
Anyway, do you guys think it's a good idea that I cut the plastic film that was attached to the pedestal and leave the portion that's at the bottom?

Spoke with fed ex and they said it is the whole shipment. If one thing in the shipment isn't right it holds it all up. They are waiting a response from Apple. Need to get it soon or they will be delayed.
Damn. Hopefully they get this squared away fast. Yeh I figured it was an entire pallet load of iMac's that are held up.

people spend $1,500-$3,000 on this thing. of course they are anxious to get it..
Being anxious is one thing... being annoying an a nuisance is another. This is tying up help time for people who have legitimate issues that they need help with.

It might slide around with the plastic left on the bottom. There should be a rubber "foot" on the bottom anyhow.

My new base iMac arrived in 4 days from time of order from Elk Grove, CA. The box said "assembled in USA," but the shipping slip said "country of origin, assembled in China." Does anyone know if Apple actually assembles iMacs in the US, and where?

Mine is still slated for arrival tomorrow at 10:30am in NJ, but hasn't seen any activity since 4am today in Tennessee with this whole delay thing. Just want to get my hands on it for the weekend so I can get some freelance work done again.
