Yes, but not with the factory rage 128. I don’t think the rage 128 can drive the 23” at full resolution at all.
But if you upgrade the card to basically anything else with either 2 DVI ports or an ADC and a DVI port it’ll drive both displays. You’ll need at least one ADC to DVI adapter for those monitors, or 2 if you get a GPU that doesn’t have ADC.

You can fit a Geforce 6200 in a cube. A Radeon 7500 should do the job too.

An Apple-version of the Geforce 2mx should work. It has ADC. Those came with digital audio g4s, should be possible to find the card quite easily.

It can’t.

It has to support TwinView to run two independent monitors. The card that came with Digital Audios does not. You need the one that came with Quicksilvers.

back in the day the ROM gurus of the time developed a modified TwinView ROM that lets you flash a normal 2MX to TwinView more or less :)

(the modified ROM can also be found on the Mac elite ROM page)

a general word of warning with the 2MX, is it NEEDS fan cooling in a G4 cube

a genuine Cube G4 2MX has a massive heatsink, but a normal Mac 2MX does not have this and will cook itself in a Cube

This probably applies to other cards too. I haven’t had a problem without a fan with the Radeon 7500 in mine (I think I got that card out of a quicksilver)
But a good recommendation is to put a fan in the cube.

This dubious web page might beg to differ. :p

Incidentally, I just learnt there was a revision of the Rage 128 Pro, released a couple of months after the Rage 128, called the Rage Fury MAXX.

I can’t help but chuckle at the name.

The MAXX is actually a dual-GPU card.

Could the geforce 3 work?
Yes, but rare. I only know of 3, 1 on Ebay about a year ago that sold for $400-something I think, another on there now for $650, and the one sitting in my Cube that bunnspecial hooked me up with back in 2019. It's quite the capable card, especially when paired with a CPU upgrade!

No while it can be made to fit the cube and is quite a good performer for OS 9 etc, its not a dual display capable card, so it would not be suitable for your application sadly

however an original ATI Radeon may be a shot but thats just as rare as the GeForce3 if not rarer, and im not 100% if it can or cannot do dual displays
(Mac tracker reports its as capable on the PowerMac G4 GigE page, but lists the cube as single head only despite the ATI Radeon being an option)
