There have been a lot of good and bad endings to 24. This one had a fairly good ending. The door is wide open for how they want to proceed. I see next year picking up just about where this season left off. It would seem that Jack will return but who knows. Renee will play a bigger role next year and I think is being groomed as Jack's replacement.

My prediction for next season, Jack lives but Kim dies in saving him. We learn more about the secret group behind everything.

That's it!!! No more 24... for now...

So, what did everyone think of this season? I thought it was kind of convoluted... First Tony, he was a good guy, he was bad, no good again... no still bad. And no ending this time. What happens to Jack, what about Rene Walker... what happens there. I like a clean story, beginning and ending an a resolution to all the problems. The day has a start and an end.

So what do you think?

In the back of my mind I thought Tony was going to pull a double double double cross but I figured it would be to easy a move. But the way 24 works you can never rule out anything. I don't think they closed up the story line because it is not over. Day 8 will probably take place a few weeks after day 7.

24 has had a lot of hanging plot lines over the years. You just learn to accept it.

renee walker is the new bauer...and just in one day too. i see an ad spoof being done, saying just one day of bauer lessons can turn someone into bauer.

i think that ending was intentional, which left the door open based on if that was the last season or they got another year. i think bauer is done.

i think the 'tony's son' bit was a bit redundant though, he already suffered through enough. but the rest was classic 24.

I freaking LOVE KIM- she stabs, she stalks and she can get burned and keep on going and still have enough courage to go through a risky procedure I loved the finale especially with Olivia getting what she deserved The Tony thing is just lame. Rene is becoming Jack-and I not sure how I feel about us just leaving that part open to interpretation.

The part that blew my mind was Allen Wilson.

If I have this right the murders of Michelle and Palmer were carried out by Chris Henderson, who got his orders from Logan who got his orders from Wilson. So in essence, Wilson ordered the hits , Logan gave the order and Henderson carried it out. If someone can demystify this convoluted story please do because that is all I can figure out.

I thought the ending is OK. I don't mind an incomplete ending, and I wouldn't mind a not-so-happy ending either.

I kind of wish Kim just let Jack die. He was at piece with it all, and already went through all the emotions of realizing that death was inevitable. Seems a bit selfish if she's doing so that she can have a father. I can understand WHY Kim would want to save him, but I can't understand why she's go through with the effort.

If they are going to kill off Jack we need to see it happen on screen. If he just fades away off camera that will be a huge rip. So either he comes back for a few episodes next season and he gets a proper send off or he returns. It is possible that Jack comes back as a better person but that would take away from the fun of the show.

We will get to see more of the secret group. Is it possible that the whole 7 seasons have revolved around this group and we are now just finding out.

Was Jack's brother a part of this group, or was that a different group.

I think it is possible-I had a slang term for the group before we knew who they were and what they were interested in. I called them the "Blue-tooth group". I think Wilson was the leader of the group and Graham Bauer was just his top guy.

Agreed. While it does suck for her to lose her other parent, it was clear (to us at least) that Jack was at peace and ready to go. She is trying to save him for her own benefit, not for his.

I dunno...the ending was kinda meh for me. Twas obvious kim would overwrite Jacks decision...blatantly saw that one coming & that olivia wasn't gonna get away with it. I see the presidents husband leaving her and she pursuing a relationship with ethan.

Rene is gonna be the next bauer but probably AFTER next season or towards its conclusion since Jack will be backn To me i dont think she looks the part to be honest...she just doesn't look 'tough' enough...yet but we'll see what the end product is after the transition

I actually expected a rescue of alan wilson and was very surprised they didn't break him out at all

Finally almeida's ending was kinda lame & boring

I agree, I'm afraid Kim may die helping her dad... but then she was on TV talking about playing a bigger role in the series, so maybe not.

We need more Jack Bauers!

Was Kim's cell battery dying the first instance of a cell battery not keeping up on 24?

I want their phones. They use them heavily over a 24 hour period, talking, sending/receiving data and/or video, half the time in stolen cars (so you know that they don't have car chargers) and most of them look like large screen smart phones. I know through 8 hours of moderately heavy use with just talking and the occasional game, I can eat my phone's battery pretty well, yet agents on 24 almost never have a problem.

Don't forget no bathroom breaks or having to shave for 24 hours.

This is a tad OT-Sprague Grayden, the actress who played Olivia is on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Apparently she plays an assault victim who fought back and put her attacker in a hospital.

Well the President's husband leaving in the future was kind of implied.

Yeah, I think so too, but....

To me i dont think she looks the part to be honest...she just doesn't look 'tough' enough...

...that's the problem.

I'm not trying to come across as sexist, but I would take Jack's threats against me more seriously because he's a guy. Renee is a girl, and she'd have to grow another 0.5', gain 40 lbs of muscle, and really butch up to scare me. If she talked really aggressive to me wearing such a tight shirt, I'd probably get a bit turned on. :p

Besides, if I were a terrorist, particularly if I were from the Middle East or something, I'd think a man would be more effective at scaring someone into divulging information, unless she were always to use torture tactics.

Renee isn't going to be the new Bauer.. there will not be a new Bauer.

The stem cell treatment is obviously going to work, so he'll be back for season 8.. I think season 8 might end up being the last season of the show.

I hope it won't be the last season.

But god what a ending. I rekon that renee is going to beat the **** out of wilson, she will take jacks advise and get the answers. I some how predict a new president, with the family in disarray

I would agree with the new president thing, as I don't think the current administration handled anything too well in the past day, but word on the street is that the next season will take place hours after this season. So there will not be new time contextually to get a new prez.

Unfortunately I believe this is not the case-I remember reading somewhere that she is coming back next year

Keifer just confirmed on Fallon that season 8 will take place not to long after 7 left off. It will be set in New York.

24 needs to end next year. It's time for it go IMHO.

Jack needs to die and it has to be a most epic death.

Kim (as much as I absolutely love seeing Cuthbert on the screen) needs to go back to being a mom, thus never seen again.

Tony will be locked up for a long time now (twas a pleasure seeing Bernard back on screen again).

Chloey was her normal self and didn't get much air time. She essentially can wander off with her family

Jeanine Garaofolo's character was sucktastic.

Rene Walker was a fantastic addition and I thought she was progressed rather nicely through the day.

Hated Olivia Taylor (thus meaning she played her role splendidly).

Mr. Taylor is just full of hate (can't blame him per se) but there isn't much left there

President Taylor was fantastic, torn between being a mother and a president. She did seem rather weak though.

Ethan wants to bang President Taylor (in a nut shell)

I guess what I'm saying is that the plot points have dried up over 7 seasons. How many more ways can you spin terrorists wanting to attack the US?

I agree, Jack Bauer's death needs to be the biggest most epic death in the history of television.

I still think Edgar's death was one of the greatest pieces of drama.
