Anyone else out there run into the same problem?
Does anyone know if these phones are still available. I've tried going to the link that's earlier in the forum, but get nothing.
Thanks!😀
I guess Apple and AT&T really do have different standards when it comes to refurbs. As I have heard some people receiving phones with heavy cosmetic damage and such. Apple usually replaces the caseings, I guess AT&T gets lazy.
I was so pumped when Ir eceived my iPhone for $250. Rushed to open the box and such only to realize... I had received a broken iPhone. It would turn on and such but nearly the entire touch sensor was dead. It would not register any finger-taps.
I went over to an Apple store, they where cool about it and repalced it with one of their own refurbs. Which is in immaculate condition.
Weird thing was, the apple dude told me I only had till June 28th, 08 on my warranty left. I found that odd since I bought the phone on March 18th. 08. Apparently AT&T doesn't even update your information to the refurbs serial number. So the phone is only covered from when the original owner purchased the phone. Now I have to go through Apple and fax over proof-of-purchase to get it updated so I get the full year coverage from when I purchased the phone.
Overall Im very happy, got an apple quality refurb now and my warranty will be updated. It is worth it to buy from AT&T, but you may have some extra work invovled. Worth it for the $250 price tag.
My debit card has not been charged yet either, the only thing that I can think is that they will charge after delivery confirmation. As long as I get my phone tomorrow I don't care when they charge my card. 🙂
Hello fellows,
i just registered to this forum after reading for weeks now.
In germany they´ve introduced iphone half a year ago with a damn bad contract from t-mobile.
I am searching another possibility to get an iphone for weeks now. A refurb phone would be great. As I am not a US citizan I think I won´t get one, right?
As a friend of mine moved to florida, he could possibly send me a device but as the new ones are limited (one or two devices each credit card, I guess?) he was not able to send me one. What about the refurb devices? Same rule for them?
What is the exact procedure to buy the refurbs? I have been on the link posted at the beginning of this thread but it didn´t work. Can my friend, who is german but living in the US buy one device in the internet? Please help me to get an iphone soon ;-----)))))))) PLZ!!!
best regards,th
ok so as I am reading thru the forum a couple of you have had to fax over proof of purchase on the AT&T Refurb buy - where are you faxing
Go to Apple website, put in your serial number to check warranty. There is a fax page to download and fill out.
and are you getting immediate attention from Apple.
No
Is there a number I can call?
No
So far my refurb is in perfect condition but hey you never know and can I purchase the Apple extended plan if needed with a refurb?
Yes
Got mine...
Saw the DHL guy walking up to the front door (my dogs alerted me). As I was walking to open the door I saw him literally throw the package at the door!
I could not believe it! I had only seen that sort of package handling on TV sitcoms. Completely unacceptable.
I can tell you from seeing that sort of service, I will NEVER use DHL to ship anything. QUOTE]
This worrys me. I'm at work now and what if someone just see it and steal it??

On a more positive note, My ATT Refurb iPhone is AWESOME! No flaws at all!
I just went to check the Apple Warranty on it, and the darn thing has never even ever been activated! Came with 1.1.1, week 30.
I upgraded to 1.1.4 and Unlocked/Activated with ZiPhone.
I would have opened the door and said, "Thanks for the delivery, although you missed the door. Try aiming a little higher next time you throw a package."
Then I would have followed him outside and gotten the number on his vehicle just to scare him a little bit.
This morning I faxed in the proof of purchase for the three iPhones that I bought. This afternoon I received three emails from Apple stating that they have adjusted the end of the warranty period for the phones to one year after my purchase date.
wow...
just received mine. def NOT mint condition. not acceptable, not even a little. first of all i was disappointed to see that its not in its original packaging, and then i open it to find MULTIPLE scratches and a DENT on the back! i'm going to try to take it to the apple store today - hopefully i dont have to end up sending it back in.
