Thanks for your reply, I was already thinking about that protector! How do you like the added screen protector, is that one good, too? I made good experiences with the invisibleShield, but I don't want to spend the extra money if it should not be necessary...

From my experience with my Touch you can't scratch that screen by daily use, though I have never tried to push it (I don't put keys with it in my pocket or anything), but if you check out videos online it is VERY resistant to scratches on the screen. IDK about the rest of my case, the back of my Touch is scratched to hell and back of course but it has the shiny iPod back not the matte iPhone back.

Got mine today, ordered Tuesday morning.

Phone is in great shape, can't tell it from new. Charger and headphones also look new. But I didn't get the cleaning cloth or the foam covers for the earbuds :(

I have bad cell reception where I am (all carriers it seems -- compared notes with neighbors and nobody is happy) and the data xfer is slower than I expected, but livable. She Who Must Be Obeyed finally said "put the damn thing down and pay attention to me" :)

Great! Ya mine is mint too... btw, fyi - new iPhones never came shipped with the foamies for the earbuds.

I have to wait mine until Monday but things are coming together :

a. You can get 50% off SIM T mobile card if you order online (5 bucks).
b. I just got a 50% off Invisible Shield (check the shopping forum, 12 bucks)

Free shipping on both purchases and, of course, the iPhone itself was a bargain.

I need to get better earphones now. Any suggestions ?

:D:D:D

I was waiting for a whole day but I could not receive it then I checked the tracking number on web site. it said DHL attempted to deliver.
even I've never saw any single truck near my house today:mad:
I can't believe the delivery guy just skipped my house.

Where in the box was the cleaning cloth? These phones are old. Mine has firmware 1.0.1 (serial indicates 25th week of 2007). And no, Apple and AT&T obviously do not have the same standards for refurbishment.

My phone works fine on my wireless network (I agree that one should thoroughly check out the phone before unlock). My problem is this: I can't seem to get it into DFU mode for a firmware upgrade. I press and hold both the sleep/wake button and the home button for 10 seconds, and my iPhone appears to turn off. But I don't get the popup from iTunes about detecting recovery mode (I can get iTunes to offer to activate, though!).

Any suggestions?

Not sure if you have been responded to yet. But after those ten seconds you have to keep hold the home button down and then itunes on your pc or mac will notice that your in recovery mode. Hope that helps.

Unlock, Activate, & Jailbreak worked for me. T-Mobile / 1.1.4 :D

So I received my iphone yesterday and am getting ready to try and set it up on TMobile. Before doing that, I turned it on and connected to my wireless connection, but I can't access any sites or email. Is there a step I'm missing? Do I need to do something else on the iphone in the network settings?

I am getting he blue wifi symbol.

Received mine yesterday--broken

Hi. I purchased mine on Tuesday--got it yesterday afternoon--it was awesome! I've been planning on when to get it for months! I worked several hours to get things up and running (contacts and updates and such). Anyhow, I come to find out through using it that the phone works fine until it is put to sleep. If I wake up the phone it reboots (hence, it has been off and not receiving calls as well).
I called ATT and they transferred me to Apple tech "Jay" created a case number and said it was definitely defective. He said the quickest way to do it was to take it back into a store (he knew it was an online refurb from ATT). I hurried into a local ATT store last night before they closed, but they wouldn't touch it.
I'm on the phone with them now--they are going to send me out another refurb and won't be here until maybe Wednesday. I have to go through the hassle of returning this one by mail and somehow getting my old phone back up and running.
This one was obviously returned by someone that had a problem and ATT or Apple did not check this one out (and pay attention to the comments what was wrong with it) before it was sent out to me. I guess this is why I only paid $249, but now I have two $249 charges on my credit card for the broken one plus the upcoming one.

So my order has gone from Processed to "Activated" after sorting out the issues with my CC...

How long after being Activated did yours ship? The guy on the phone said the phone is still backorder, but we know that just means about 2-3 of waiting...

Do they ship out on the weekend? Or am I stuck waiting till monday?

I can't wait!

Why would you have 2 charges on your credit card? Sounds like you need to call your credit card company. Why would you have to pay for two when when the first one was defective and not your fault?

Better than the apple phones? I like the apple phones because you can stop/pause/skip songs and the mic in it make the phone work better.

It should be taken off as soon as he returns the other phone, they have to have some incentive to send the phone back ;)

Got my phone - keeping it as a backup.

It's one of the original batches - like my 4 Gig:

Week 29
Series 5 screen
1.0.2

Came activated. Makes sense - they can test them before you actually update the firmware and activate with AT&T.

The phone looks like it was never used. The cable and dock looks lightly used. The headphones and power adapter are new.

Updated to 1.1.4, ZiPhone to unlock - without a hitch and a no-brainer.

Great deal for $249 + Tax.

Poor Apple, these things are soooo easy to unlock now (compared to when I first unlocked mine with 1.0.2).

I got three phones. All of the accessories in the boxes were new, except the USB cable for one phone. So I took it to the AT&T store and they swapped it out for a new one.

Hello fellows,

i just registered to this forum after reading for weeks now.
In germany they´ve introduced iphone half a year ago with a damn bad contract from t-mobile.

I am searching another possibility to get an iphone for weeks now. A refurb phone would be great. As I am not a US citizan I think I won´t get one, right?

As a friend of mine moved to florida, he could possibly send me a device but as the new ones are limited (one or two devices each credit card, I guess?) he was not able to send me one. What about the refurb devices? Same rule for them?

What is the exact procedure to buy the refurbs? I have been on the link posted at the beginning of this thread but it didn´t work. Can my friend, who is german but living in the US buy one device in the internet? Please help me to get an iphone soon ;-----)))))))) PLZ!!!

best regards,th

I guess Apple and AT&T really do have different standards when it comes to refurbs. As I have heard some people receiving phones with heavy cosmetic damage and such. Apple usually replaces the caseings, I guess AT&T gets lazy.

I was so pumped when Ir eceived my iPhone for $250. Rushed to open the box and such only to realize... I had received a broken iPhone. It would turn on and such but nearly the entire touch sensor was dead. It would not register any finger-taps.

I went over to an Apple store, they where cool about it and repalced it with one of their own refurbs. Which is in immaculate condition.

Weird thing was, the apple dude told me I only had till June 28th, 08 on my warranty left. I found that odd since I bought the phone on March 18th. 08. Apparently AT&T doesn't even update your information to the refurbs serial number. So the phone is only covered from when the original owner purchased the phone. Now I have to go through Apple and fax over proof-of-purchase to get it updated so I get the full year coverage from when I purchased the phone.

Overall Im very happy, got an apple quality refurb now and my warranty will be updated. It is worth it to buy from AT&T, but you may have some extra work invovled. Worth it for the $250 price tag.
