someone who could care less about other people is gonna whip out a smart comment about should have been quicker, or something to the effect. ............but I'm going to tell you karma is an inescapable certainty and when you're laying on that hospital bed looking at the waiting list for that liver or kidney - you're next on the list and some celeb with $250,000 to spare slides in and takes your organ right in front of you.........well you should have been quicker, eh? Just an example..... not quite on the same level of a sold out phone.

It's really not that serious, but karma doesn't seem to care when it comes back around. She's not dying for one so no setback on her part, but I'm sure someone out there was and it might have been a big deal for them to get one. She'd have "liked" to have had one. No strong feelings about it either way.

Personally, bought mine for full price and love it so whatever. :) Hope they get them restocked for the others that just want to buy ONE.

If your mom wants one so bad for $250, tell her to shop around at ATT brick & mortar stores... They got them!
 
A quick activation question

Ok, so my wife and I have a family plan on AT&T.

I have an iPhone and she a Nokia 6555. When I get this and plug it in to her iTunes I'll be able to transfer her number over to it? Or should I switch SIMs or what? They won't know where she got the phone right? Couldn't she just tell them someone gave it to her and she wants to use it instead of the Nokia and add the data plan or is there some sort of :apple: iStipulation that you get a 2 year contract extension?

Just wondering as it wasn't entirely clear...

I believe you do this (not 100% sure since I'm gonna be using T-Mobile but I assume it's pretty similar).

Install itunes
Insert old att sim card
Check the version of iPhone
Use ziPhone to unlock

Soon after, phone will detect network and display ATT/cingular
Make a test call successfully.

Not really sure with AT&T. I know with T-Mobile, I can just add on a data plan for $20 and be done with it. Not sure if AT&T has anything similar. They may or may not since the iPhone is technically exclusive to them.

You do not even need the $20 plan. just add t-zones for $6, does the same thing although you will need to jailbreak the phone to get it to work.
 
Doe anyone have an unboxing pictures of what the refurbished units look like? I remember seeing them some where, but now I can't...

That's what mine said as well. I think it's a CYA move because you order it on X day and then it takes two days to get there. Therefore the 3 days. I don't think it's guaranteed there in 2 days.

Anyone able to track and get the order status? I ordered more than 24 hours ago and I tried all the combination info in the order page and it said below error message.

"We're sorry, but the information you entered was not recognized by our systems. Your order may not yet be available or the information may have been entered incorrectly. Please try again."

For the people who ordered this $249 refurbish iPhone, how many days before you received your $249 iPhone?

I have been having the same problem, so I called AT&T directly, and they said that your order has to go through a "review". I then asked how long that takes, and she said 48 hours! So it has to be reviewed for 2 days before it even ships!

That is just stupid, I order it with 2 day shipping, I expect to get it in 2-3 days.

Thanks for your update. Since I ordered yesterday and indicated "2 days free shipping" therefore I hoped I will get it before the weekend. Well for $249 I guess I will wait :p

I already doesn't matter, since there are no more, but here is whats at the bottom of the Order Confirmation page. Note how taxes aren't included. Your CC bill reflects them.

Thanks too for the update. I had also checked and saw the same thing when I checked my status.

When did you order? I ordered mine yesterday at 2pm CST, and did receive an email confirmation but no shipping confirmation, and my order still doesn't appear under order status.

What sorts of delays are people seeing between order time and actual shipping time?

I stand corrected. It sounds like I'll be paying 8% sales tax on my purchase. Oh well, the good news is that I received an order confirm from ATT today with a tracking number.

The iPhone I ordered yesterday morning has been shipped 2-day priority via DHL and the estimated delivery date is tomorrow. :D
 
BTW it looks like they are sold out now, I don't know if this has already been said, i just noticed

Not everyone is 19 with a pocket protector sitting on the internet cashing three ip's and snarfing over the Wiki entry they just did about their great deviance.

There are a lot of people who get screwed that should have gotten one honestly that are "normals".

I have my 8g I bought brand new so I don't particularly care, but my mother was sent a link to get one and I find out the people hoarding 5 and ten at a time have screwed her out of a chance to buy one.
