I’m sure people go looking for things. I’ve been using it on my daily driver and my iPad since dev beta 1 and haven’t come across a single thing that makes me think “that really bugs me, I’m going to report it”

Update through major iOS versions and you eventually get keyboard lag. It may be after the first major update or it may take a couple, but it always happens.
It's because they're adding to the stuff that happens upon keypress, and it mostly is still fast enough on the newest hardware, but older models suffer.

I just got an iPhone 13 out of storage that is still on iOS 15, and the fluidity even compared to iOS 17 is astonishing.

What I want to know is if there are any major functionality issues in iOS 26. Every year I see people complaining about minor UI issues as if they were huge problems and ignore the major functionality breaking bugs. Just a few examples from the past 2 years:

1. iOS 17 broke searching for messages. Fixed in 17.2.
2. iOS 18 broke IMAP Mail as in people couldn’t get their mail. For me it just broke background fetching of mail. Fixed in 18.3.
3. It seems like every other iOS release breaks Safari iCloud tabs which then takes months to fix.

I’m just wondering what iOS 26 will break.

They still haven't fixed the iOS 18-related iCloud tabs bugs. I still get stray websites appearing that I can only remove by reseting Safari iCloud.

Apple really could have been so much more clever here, rather than liquid glass, which to me just looks like the clear gel stickers you get for furniture.

They could have used the front camera to control reflections, and make a mercury style interface, which reflects what is picked up by the from camera.

At least it would have been something that is genuinely liquid.

There are issues with CarPlay and selecting the recently added, for cars that don't have the touch screen, and scroll wheel - the first row jumps upwards and out of the screen - I have raised this for a while, but nothing....

All of the problems are directly related to having these "events" dictate when software is "done" and NOT when it actually IS done. I realize timelines are necessary, but putting out pOS software is inexcusable and they should be absolutely embarrassed. There is NO reason to let some arbitrary meeting date dictate a finished product so they need to put away the calendars and get busy fixing the issues and it'll be released when it actually works as expected.

The same issues I have had on my iPad Pro M1 and reported are still there in the last PB. Tapping on apps that do not open, cursors moving on their own in text fields, cannot cursor over an autocorrected word to fix it with my trackpad - I have to use my finger.

Or the other way you could look at it, you know the release date then you plan backwards, work out what you can successfully implement in the time you have - don't try to shorten the cooking process or you'll end up with food poisoning - you know dinner time is 6:00PM, so you now can work out when to start.

Reported few bugs, nothing got fixed, still having issues with Safari in compact view, where I click on the text field and it scroll to a blank white UNDER the website so I can't see what I'm typing, need to type in blind and then scroll up to the text field again, if I want to correct something, it scrolls again, happens on a lot of websites, even on facebook mobile, random "thinking" when trying to unlock the phone are annoying, there it unlocks to blank screen without icons with wallpaper only and need to either wait, lock/unlock the phone agan. Was not really keep on the redesign but I started to like it, but the bugs are just :////

I am. Waiting until 26.1.
I already sacrificed my iPad Pro for the beta and I don't like it. Since it is such a royal PITA to go back so I will update it to see how it is and if problems are fixed or not. I turned off the ridiculous Liquid Ass. I don't need eye candy; I need software that actually works and works well.

I will say that I do like the Mac-style integrations on the iPad, especially on browser windows (I use DDG).

I turned off auto updates on my AWU1 and 15PM until I finally hear good things from most everyone.

Thanks for the responses. I will definitely wait for a little while. I didn't preorder a new phone. I plan to buy one once I can walk into ATT and do everything there.

iOS 26 is very resource-dependent. I am pretty sure it works like 💩 on iPhone 11, 11 Pro or any phone with less than 6 gigabytes RAM. All the bells and whistles require power. Probably Apple is doing "planned obsolescence" trick for the second time now: shiny "new" UI design and lots of "last gen" devices in the wild, so people would see their phone lagging and just go and buy newer one. They have zero incentive to make it work faster. I still remember the days when iOS 7 landed on iPhone 4, it literally killed this phone despite having "no animations" and Apple even stated it is less resource-dependent. Same will probably happen to 11 and 11 Pro

Ain’t all IOS buggy when they first come out? I’m sure depending on what iPhone or iPad people are using the experience may very. There will probably be an update shortly after the full release to fix problems that were recently discovered.
To a degree, but iOS26 is one of the buggiest RC's I've seen in a good decade. Apple is now a trillion $ company. Very, very obvious visual bugs, that have been well reported, should have been long, long fixed.

Really? Oh no. Oh, no, no, no... Anyway. Really looking forward to it and will install soon as it's available this morning and enjoy it. Keep looking for things, looks like you're having fun with it.

Like a lot of people are saying, I also have only really experienced visual glitches here and there.

I have experienced none of the bugs I had in iOS 18 while running iOS 26 beta and it has honestly been the most stable beta in years. Some relatively minor visual glitches are fine for now, but everything has just been working properly on iOS 26. I think Apple really took time internally to iron out everything.

I turned off auto updates on my AWU1 and 15PM until I finally hear good things from most everyone.

For what it’s worth, for iOS with auto update on it won’t automatically update to iOS 26 until the 26.1 or 26.2 release. Apple has been making updating to new major releases optional for a couple of months, the last few iOS releases.

You obviously haven’t understood the point of being a beta tester, or you don’t care.

I run my devices exactly as I would in real life and then I tell Apple if I experience any issues. That’s what a beta test is: a small sample of real world users.

Yeah, but it is such a horrible consequence of iOS updates that I’d make sure it is as well-optimised as possible for the oldest supported device.

It is absolutely obvious and annoying when it happens. I’ll go as far as to say that I don’t know how people tolerate it.

I always run original iOS versions and never update, but I’m so annoyed by it when I use an older, updated device.

I made sure that the devices of the family members I have to provide technical support for have automatic OS updates turned off. Still Apple will push it onto them at some point (literally, using push notifications).
Darn it, I didn’t think of that for my mom, only for my GFs MacBook because she doesn’t trust Liquid Glass yet.
She’s an Android user.
