so how much do you usually run a day twood? I ran 5 last night, but that's the longest I've run in years. I usually run 3-4 miles several times a week, but this nike+ stuff has got me doing more - which is quite cool.

i try to run at least 5 miles a day, but usually 6-7, and sometimes 8. i also do some walking, so that adds on my mileage as well.

i have motivation other than here, but this still helps motivate me.

i usually take one day off a week from running

I try to do that as well - but since I've been down here in Florida, I've been running the dog to the nearby park and back for an extra mile or so a day. I actually ran with her in a race in DC - the Pennsylvania 1 Miler. She pulled me the first half mile and I pulled her the last bit. But I'd love to do it with her again so I might make that run in the morning a little longer.

i've ran with my dog a few times, but he doesn't get alone with other dogs at all. so i don't like running with him very much.

well i can't see any of my run data now. the nike site is getting out of hand. i don't know if my stuff was uploaded or not.

when i connect my ipod to my computer, i get an error " can't connect to the database" or something like that. anyone else get this?

If I tried to run with my dog I don't think it'd go too well. First off, seeing me run she'd think I want to play and probably grab ahold of my ankles, and if we ever did get into the forward motion she'd be distracted in about two seconds. That's what makes her so much fun though.

I got it, but when I plugged in my iPod today with a workout on it, it sent both of them to Nike+.

Hey now, if you loose a few runs in there it will only make the second place guy lose by only a few less KM.

yeah if i don't have a leash on my dog then he gets distracted big time and goes all over the place. he tries to do the same even on the leash, but i kinda give a pull and he doesn't have a choice but to come along. he's fun too, but not running or around other dogs. i've tried to get him to play nice with other dogs, but i think he's too old to learn to be nice now.

well i tried just now and i got the same error when it tried to send my workout data.

you might be right, but i still think this challege will be closer than you think

It's been very spotty. At times I can access anything I want to. At other times, it takes clicking back and forth on buttons for a long time, and sometimes it still doesn't work. Kinda frustrating. :)

yeah, it's very frustrating.

thanks rick for the update (even though i like miles better, but oh well)

I've updated the first post with a complete graphic....and I'll update it in a couple days or so again.

D

thanks for updating. what's your name on there?

ha, shows that you're a new member, I just figured everyone would know it was me - I forget that its been years since I changed my name here....

I'm dukestreet :p

and you might notice that there is a slight color difference in the highlight shading on my bar because the replace color adjustment in photoshop I set up doesn't quite get all the green. And my nike+ name is black, not gray

anyways, yeah, i thought that was you.....just checkin i guess :)

I'm on pace to hit my january resolution of 20 miles. My ultimate goal is 400 this year, which should be fine once my lungs catch up to my ambition. :)

That's a good goal. Start slow, and pace yourself. Pain does not always equal gain, for me and my first attempt at jogging it equalled quitting and extremely sore muscles.

Last spring I started running again, slowly and gradually I increased the distance and speed. I'm still not fast, or skinny, but I feel a heck of a lot better.

PS. The Nike+ is working a heck a lot better today on my end.

i agree here.....start off slow and work your way up. and keep your head up :)
