yer, Max is like that, he's strong for a pup, and will generally try run towards any dog, or CAR, or human or anything that moves. being a herding dog, he just wants to round up whatever it is that comes his way. Its their nature. If I run with him and he starts having a go... I'll just slow down and walk, and give him a bit of a tug on the lead, he soon picks up pace again, he loves to run, and always runs in front of me.

I guess it's all about training, walking or running a dog requires a lot of training. Also dont want him to get into the habit of running all the time, otherwise when I want to walk him he'll be expecting a run.

yeah, training is all i can think of. my dog, Blade, is over 4 years old, but still acts like he's a puppy. we have to keep him on a chain b/c he visits the neighbors all time (like our 28 acres aren't enough!) but he's too old to teach how to act around other dogs and stuff now. but there's still time for your dog

I ran a 2:20 on the 800 last year. Do you do the 3200? I hope to break 11:00 on the 3200 this year. My fastest 5k (Cross Country this year) is 18:06.
I am a Senior, so that isn't that great, I know, but I used to be really bad(consistently 21-22 for a 5k), then last year I ran track (first time since grade school when my mile pr was 7:30) and this year I was actually decent at CC, we went to state.
2:33 800
5:29 1500
5:31 1600
11:54.3 3200

i only ran the 3200 twice in my high school career.....once in my 10th grade year before i really started taking running serious. i ran like 11:11 i think, i'm not really sure. and then my senior year i ran 10:18. (we had 3 races in one week, so coach made me do the 2 mile in one of them)

i know my times might sound fast to you. but to me, 11:11 was slow, and i knew i could do better. it seems that you are starting to figure out yourself, and are improving your running.

i'm guessing your in your senior year of track. just believe in yourself, set some goals, and go get'em!

Thanks, I am a senior, yes, I just started running seriously this year, starting over the summer.
