It kinda basically was just drool (see this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1508549/)

Turns out it was just the rounded corners of Preview at fullscreen. The telltale sign was that it was a symmetrical pattern on both bottom corners of the screen. Hopefully this'll diffuse any potential anxiety about the quality of the new iMacs... at least it did for me.. mine's arriving tomorrow :)

Good to know!

YES YES YES!

Finally switched to preparing for shipment.

3.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
1TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX 1GB GDDR

Ordered around noon 11/30. Originally estimated delivery date December 31 - January 7.

Oh wow, Preparing for shipment.

Ordered on 11/30 1pm EST.

I've been checking all week, and since i read these 2 back to back posts, thought i'd take a look.

Run it overnight and see if they come on. It's brand new, sometimes that works. If not, take it back. I have never kept a computer with even one dead pixel. These were supposed to be individually calibrated and checked!

p.s. are you sure it isn't drool? :apple:

It was the app Preview being used to open this black jpg. False alarm.:p

I've looked and looked and looked for any blemishes/problems (which people normally dont even do) and there is none my unit is great. Good luck to everybody else on theirs. :)

Hopefully the whole batch was good (I feel like Walter White saying that :D)!

Someone mentioned damage to the outer box... I've been seeing that in other postings and unboxing videos. I think maybe at one point all the boxes in the shipment (or many of them) were tied together really tight... I wonder if they pack them tight in an alternating pattern... One right-side-up, one upside-down, one right-side-up, and so on... because of the shape.

Cross stacking the trapezoidal shape to save shipping space would only work if the outer brown box is also of that shape (is it??). Perhaps they ship to stores with pallets of retail boxes stacked this way for shipping purposes.

I don't think there is a domestic repackaging stop to insert retail boxes into brown boxes for units being shipped direct to the customer.

You ordered a week after they went live? I think that's what you're saying, it'd probably take until the end of the weekend or so to get going. They are probably trying to get out all the same day orders, especially after a lot of early buyers calling and complaining.

exactly.. so I have to wait new year fot the shipping?

I was just going by the fact that many of us had ours shipped to Anchorage, showing identical tracking info (including times). Once at Anchorage, they all went separate ways. For example, bobright and I had identical tracking info, up to and including landing at Anchorage... Then his went to Oakland, and mine to Newark.

Edit: BTW the outer brown box is the same shape...

Everythings grade A-in Jesse Pinkman voice ;)

Don't worry you should be alright. The outer box had a little nick but it didnt penetrate the inner box plus its boxed with foam really well. I was pleasantly surprised figured there would have been something wrong I'd probably have to live with or keep returning for that perfect unit. Boy was I wrong and I'm not sane I inspect all my newly bought electronics endlessly am very pleased.:D:apple:

I ordered at around 8AM EST on 11/30 with the following:

3.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
3TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB GDDR5
Apple Magic Mouse
Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad
Available to ship: 2 - 3 Weeks
Delivers Dec 20 - Dec 27 via Next Day Shipping

Apple, of course, told me that the reason why I haven't gotten mine shipped yet is because it's BTO. Don't really believe that figuring 99% of the units on here are BTO too!

Anyone with a similar computer spec and order time still processing? Seems like people who got the same computer, way after me, already have theirs! Thanks

Yeah, that's what they told me too, and it's simply untrue. I ordered at 12:07 am on 11/30, have a delivery window of Dec. 21-28, and mine is still processing. I know of at least one person with the exact configuration I have and who ordered five hours later, whose order shipped last Tuesday. My config. is:

3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
3TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 680MX 2G GDDR

They seem to be starting to ship to people with delivery windows of Dec. 31 to Jan. 4.

----------

I have some Apple stuff I really need to order, but I'm not feeling much like giving them my money right now.

I ordered BTO with the exact same specs. Still "Processing Items". This stinks. Any other 11/30ers still out there? How about you, Bayleaves?

Ordered online at 7:30am on November 30 from St. Louis Missouri
3.4GHz / 8GB RAM / 3TB Fusion Drive / GeForce GTX 680MX

So.... does this mean tomorrow or Tuesday?

Nothing has happened since Saturday at 3am, apparently...

FedEx says Tuesday, but you never know, right? :D

I have the same status and I believe we'll get it Tuesday. So far they have not left Memphis and from what I've seen in the past the package needs to be at the local FedEx in the morning or they do not go out for delivery. Although maybe it is possible we could pick it up Monday night if it arrives at a decent time.

Wow, this is odd! As soon as I hit post a couple of minutes ago I refreshed (for the nth time) my order status page and it just ticked over to preparing for shipment! How's that for timing?

So, I guess, if you're in my boat then you'll probably see it getting ready soon.

I'm just glad because I live in Alaska and I know the exact building that they all go into and maybe even your FedEx pilots, so the anticipation is killing me. Almost felt like driving over there and just picking it off of the plane myself.

Congrats to you! Hope you get it soon. Ours were identical so hopefully that bodes well for me. Bayleaves, what is your configuration?

I ordered on November 30th later in the day (6pm central standard time) and am still in "processing item" status. Hoping for a delivery by mid week though. I'm being optimistic according to what I seen and read on the forums though.

As I wrote with Reklobe, you and I have the same config. You exhibit more hope that I have, though. Hang in there, 11/30ers, however many of us there are left.

Yep, still here... :( How come they don't have a smiley floating in a river of tears?

I still feel so bad for you, I check this thread to see if you have any movement.

The only positive thing I can tell you that once you do finally ship, it should move fast... On Froday night, my iMac was in Shanghai and by Saturday night it was already in Memphis.

I use a program called CleanApp to delete unwanted programs and files. It does a good job of finding the hidden portions of a program that would be left behind if you just send a program to the Trash.
In most cases, app removal software doesn't do a thorough job of finding and removing files/folders related to deleted apps. For more information, read this and this. If you just want to delete the app, drag the .app file to the trash. No other software needed. If you want to completely remove all associated files/folders, no removal apps will do the job.

The most effective method for complete app removal is manual deletion:
