27" Delivery time thread.

Mine was scheduled for delivery Dec 28-Jan 4. But now its scheduled to deliver Dec 19 by 10:30am. It was preparing for shipment as if yesterday. Very excited to get it in only 2 days. Shipping via FedEx not ups which hopefully means no shipment errors
 
My conversation with UPS on their online chat service:

Initial Question: Will my package be delivered today as planned?
Gabriel C.: Hi, this is Gabriel C.. I'll be happy to assist you.
Gabriel C.: Just a moment while I review your tracking information.
Glenn: Thank you, it looks like it is currently in KY since Friday morning, but I'm just outside of Orlando so I'm not sure why it hasn't moved
Gabriel C.: The original delivery date that was setup for Apple was by end of day tomorrow, however the system it is scheduling the delivery for today, there is no confirmation the package made it in the truck from the local center, but it is possible, if not delivered today, it will definitely be there tomorrow.
Glenn: Is there any confirmation that the package has left KY?
Gabriel C.: Unforutantely no, sorry.
Glenn: Why would it be sitting in KY since Friday morning? That makes no sense to me
Gabriel C.: That is correct, It is possible that the local center just didn't scan it, I'm so sorry we are not able to confirm, but the package might be there today, if not it will definitely be there tomorrow.
Glenn: Ok, thanks. For a company that "loves logistics" you sure are dropping the ball in this case

Annnnnnnd just checked my tracking again and now I'm pushed back to tomorrow. Damn you UPS!
 
Before Apple's order status page "went extremely busy" l called (again) the customer service line to inquire on the status of my order...l told them l "just wanted to make sure the system was still going to be delivered on time considering the holidays were just around the corner, l also through in, a few friends of mine have already received their systems even though they ordered after me and my machine was still "processing" etc..."
The guy on the phone was real nice and assured me that even with the holidays l will get the system within the designated period - Dec 21-31. I asked if he could transfer me to someone who could give me some information on the USB superdrive, he asked what l wanted to know and after a few minutes he said, "since you've waited for so long and others you know have received their machines, l'll just ship one out to you - no cost"... l had read that l few people on the site had received superdrive's but truly didn't expect to get one..even though l don't have my machine yet, it was a good day for me....:D

I have 4th as well as delivery. I hope this happens to me. It shipped on Friday. Did this happen to you after it was shipped or when it shipped?

I told my wife we need a bigger tree... She replied that I just need to ask for smaller presents!

makes me happy that some who wanted it for christmas get it before then :)

I bet you'll be getting up at 6AM and open it up like a little boy ;) I would at least. :eek:

Well I do have to say that mine is really a birthday present. My birthday is in March and I've been waiting on the new one to come out since then. If it was a xmas present, my wife would probably make me wait too. :D

Men, can you imagine how many of us are just trying to even see the smallest movement of their 27" order (in transit somewhere around the world or even still processing), attempting any tracking website for news? And you... you lucky guy... you got it alrady delivered and... simply wait in front of your unboxed iMac till Dec 24th ??? :eek:

So unfair........... for all of us :p
