Ordered Nov 30 at 11Am MTN time- Now in Transit 27inch
Feeling like a little kid at Christmas. Why does this please me so much. After waiting for this since summer i can barely contain my excitement, Sunday it showed as preparing for shipment and early Monday morning it was picked up and will be delivered in Wyoming Wednesday.

Act real nice and check on your order that is taking so long and then nicely ask for this as an accommodation for the long wait. Say you saw on the forums that others had been afforded this. Key is to be very very nice to the cust serv person!

On another note, I ordered my iMac on 11/30 with the "wired" extended keyboard since I like using the numeric keypad on my current wired keyboard. It was the same price to configure the order for either the wireless standard keyboard or the wired extended keyboard.
Only after placing the order I began to have second thoughts... This Apple wired extended keyboard on my old iMac is still working just fine so I figured that I should give the wireless one a try.
I called Apple last week to see if I could change my order to the wireless keyboard instead. The CS agent told me that since the order was "in process" the only thing they could do was cancel it and reorder. This would have put my order to the back of the line of which I was not willing to do. The CS agent told me to just wait until I received it and if I was still wanting to exchange the keyboard I could take care of it then either by phone or at the nearest store.
Well fast forward to today, I was planning on taking it in to the local store to exchange keyboards but gave the telephone CS another try. After about 20 minutes on hold and some back and forth they are sending me a wireless keyboard to try free of charge!!! He said whichever one I decided not to keep I could either drop off at the store or donate to charity.
Talk about amazing customer service! I thanked the agent profusely and wished everyone there a happy holidays.
So in a few days I'll have another package to try to squeeze under the tree!

I placed my order on the 3rd, they charged my card almost immediately and I've called them twice to get them to, at the very least, give me a quicker delivery.
And nothing! They haven't offered my anything. They just say that they understand but there's nothing that they can do.
I'm not in the US. Is that why? What people outside the US don't celebrate Christmas?!
It's being real nice to them and poor you for this very long wait so close to xmas. Some agents won't have any of it. It's case by case, agent by agent.
UPS Delivering Early?
My original delivery date from UPS was originally set for Wednesday, December 19.
Just this morning they upped that by one day, saying they will now deliver it by end of day tomorrow. I've not seen UPS ever do that before.
A little of the back story....I ordered my BTO iMac the second they were on sale on the Apple site. It departed China on the 14th and has been waiting in Louisville with an "Arrival Scan" since the 14th, and just received an "Import Scan" this morning. That is when they upped the delivery by a day.
I'll be looking for that UPS truck tomorrow!

Just checked my Kentucky status (been there since Friday morning). Now instead of delivery on Wednesday, it says it will be here TOMORROW!! Only change in location status is now it has been "import scan"ned. So maybe it was waiting to clear customs for 3 days??
Anyway that is great news. I was going to be away Wednesday and had someone coming over to wait for it. Now I can receive it myself. Merry Christmas to me!

Delay from the 14th due to customs perhaps?
The post made it sound like it went from China to Loisville directly on the 14th.
I don't think that all outbound shipments from Shanghai go through Alaska...
Probably the same reason that when you leave Mexico and return to California you drive most of an hour before going through the vehicle border check. Somebody's nephew invented the system. lol
Or more likely, they allow them to wait until Kentucky to unpack and inspect the pallets just before they hit the several trucks taking them to different places in the US.
If it says "processing" then you will have no updates. Its only when it says "preparing for shipment" when you should expect a tracking number within 24 hours or so.

I feel sorry for the people in the five minute club whose orders haven't shipped. I really, really do. But I want to ask: Has anyone who ordered after the first day (i.e. in December) gone to prepare for shipment? I'm wondering if Apple has begun second, third, and fourth day orders (I'm a fourth dayer, with an estimate shipping date of December 28-January 4). I'm hoping to get it before Christmas. Got next day shipping.
UPS handles customs at their KY location. I know it seems strange, but it goes through Alaska without going through customs.
Mine sat in KY for two and a half days.
