27" Delivery time thread.

I ordered my iMac on November 30 and I don't have it yet (although I should very soon). Do I feel that Apple owes me anything? No. Am I mad that some people who ordered after me already received their iMacs? No.

Before I ever clicked on the purchase button I was informed that the Mac would ship in 3-4 weeks. I didn't necessarily like that, but I agreed to that when I clicked "purchase". Apple actually shipped my Mac in 2 weeks and 5 days, beating their projection by 2-9 days.

When I completed the order I was informed that my Mac would be delivered between Dec 31 and Jan 7. It now appears that Apple and UPS are going to beat that by 6-13 days.

I'm getting what I was told I would get and what I agreed to. Actually, better than. That others may have received even faster service is ultimately irrelevant to whether or not I received the service I ageed to when I purchased. While I can kind of understand a certain amount of frustration, I can't say I understand anger or a sense of being owed something more. Just my two cents.

I got a lovely Christmas surprise this morning! :D

Especially as my delivery date says 28th of Dec.
My original estimate was Dec 28th - Jan 7th.

So to recap;
Ordered 1st Dec, Shipped 20th Dec and Delivered 24th Dec.

I'm should have mine tomorrow, according to UPS, but there hasn't been an update all day on the status. It's still at Departed China after arriving in Japan. I think it must be on Oceanic 815.
 
MidWest delays

IMPORTANT!
A Midwest winter storm is causing service delays in IA, MI, MO, NE, OR, WV and WI. Just got my tracking info from Fed Ex and had this warning at top of page!!FYI
 
Both of mine arrived today while I was out. Came home and was greeted with two boxes of goodness. All unpacked and powered up and currently going through the installation process for all my creative suite stuff.

The screens are drop dead sexy. I'm finding the 27" screens feel huge compared to my dual 24" setup on my mac pro. Colour and contrast is striking also.
 
Cancel button missing on sat. Monday morning i got prepared for ship. Now monday night it is finslly shipped! 24Th~28th delivery estimated.

Original delivery time frame 2 to 8 January; requested expedited delivery and order was modified to delivery estimate 28 December to 4 January with 2 to 3 business day FedEx expedited delivery. As of 420 AM EST 24 December it is at the FedEx sorting facility 90 minutes from my home; may or may not make it today but I know that the saga is coming to a close. Therefore, yes Apple came through in typical fashion; under promised and over delivered----that's what I'm talking about:) Best of luck to my fellow travelers and Happy Holidays'!!!!!

Post Script: Prepared for shipping 21 December and presently...."7:14 am
On FedEx vehicle for delivery" the 24th of December.

I guess ours will be spending Christmas in some warehouse in Memphis. I'm sure they have bonded by now though and at least they aren't spending the holiday alone.

Interestingly, my tracking still says delivery by 10:30 this morning.
 
Looks like UPS stopped in Japan, AGAIN! I like how it arrived in Japan then departed from China (again) and now departed from Japan. I hope the scans are screwed up, but it looks like it won't be here until Wednesday or Thursday.

Out for Delivery!!!

Yippee- finally, my iMac is out for delivery from the Brattleboro UPS place!! I am going from here to sit in the front window!
Por fin llega el dichoso ordenadoooooo-o-o-o-oor!
 
After shipping on Friday the 21st, my new iMac is being delivered today!

27", 3.4 i7, 8GB, 680MX 2GB, 1TB Fusion.
