Confirmation that the reps were right when they said they all ship the same, expedited or not.
I wonder when the first ship notice will pop up here?
Lost mine, currently "Preparing for Shipment". Ordered 6AM PST the day of launch.
EDIT: I ordered a fully loaded w/ default memory.

I glanced through the earlier pages; it looks like everyone with 680MX shows preparing for shipment. I didn't see where anyone with 675MX said theirs was preparing for shipment.
Although, not everyone listed their specs.
Just an FYI for everyone. My cancel button never disappeared before my order status changed. I checked my order status last night and it still had the blue cancel items button but when I woke up this morning it stated preparing to ship. So it seems the cancel items button disappearing may not mean that your item is about to change status. Or it could mean that it does and that it may not happen for everyone like myself. I will let everyone know when it changes to shipped status so we can have an idea of how quickly they are moving out of the factory. One other thing I find interesting is that I ordered around 8AM on release day and mine is preparing for shipment however I saw that some other U.S. orders that were placed before mine with same specs are still processing. Which makes me wonder why mine changed before others who ordered before me. Could be payment related or as others have said it could be due to changing shipment type or adding on items after the order was placed.
Yes, as you said, someone else said this exact thing a few days ago. I ordered my computer at 8:03 EST, and never saw the cancel button disappear. However, I was greeted this morning with a "Preparing for Shipment!"

Same exact configuration, prepping for shipment as well. Perhaps they're shipping them in batches...?
I noticed this as well, but not sure if there is a pattern. There are some 680mx's that were ordered early and haven't changed status yet...
The only other thing I can think of is that they are going by regions or states... This way if 100 people in Cali ordered one, the first units shipped aren't limited to one area...
I ordered one with the mx, still processing. Ordered ten minutes if that after they opened it up
Just an FYI, I ordered the base 27" w/ 1TB Fusion... Apple contacted me today for a problem with withdrawing the money from my account and said that would have gone to "Prepared to Ship" had the payment gone through. Hopefully this doesn't delay my order as it was an error on their side as they did not release the funds after authorizing on 11/30.
If its not related to configuration, it may be related to: Order time, location (Country), and payment method?
So it would appear that all 3TB Fusions are still "Processing?" Mine is, and I ordered earlier than anyone I've seen (0252 EST on the 30th). 3.4 i7 and 680MX upgrade as well, but pleanty of BTO's with those options seem to have moved to "preparing for shipment." My shipment date is still Dec. 20 -27, at least.

I ordered 680mx and havent had a changed status
same here... 3.4 i7, 680MX, 1TB fusion, standard 8gb ram... ordered at about 3AM (I hit submit on the order about 5 minutes after they appeared for sale on the site)

same machine, ordered right after they showed up on the site, also in the US and mine isn't preparing for shipping yet
Still processing... I ordered on November 30th around 8am EST (7am CST where I am at)
