I think warehouses in china are just picking order numbers out of a hat. I don't understand how I placed an orders the minute it's available then someone orders the same machine 5 hours later then gets his/hers shipped first. Can someone explain ????

I'm with you, bad customer service. I wish I could get those four hours of sleep back.

An update for all of us shipping on UPS and still stuck in Shanghai.

UPS hasn't had a flight from there since ours were initially scanned but Flight 80(from Louisvile to Shanghai with a stop in Anchorage is in route to Shanghai now and arrives around 11 AM Shanghai time.

Flight 81 is the returning flight to Louisville and normally leaves there around 10 PM their time. It normally arrives in Louisvile and normally arrives aRound 1 AM the next day. In this case it will be 12/13.

That would mean the deliveries could be made on 12/14.

Since my posting I now have a line item saying it received its departure scan at 5:12am their time (which is 12/12/12)

My iMac left shanghai at 512am December 12th local time. It still says December 17th delivery time. Was originally December 18th.

Feel bad for those who ordered at beginning. I ordered at 6am November 30th eastern time.

Mine has the same departure scan now but no flights have left there. This departure scan would be in preparation for flight 81 later in the evening their time.

Mine also says 12/17 but I believe there is a possibility for Friday.

I stayed up all night to order at 12am PST and have been stuck in processing funds were on hold now they've been released. Very very frustrating.

I'm in the same boat. Is yours still "processing"?

This explains everything for me right now

Mine in the first batch originally shipped yesterday; just scanned "Departure scan 5:12am" in Shanghai. So hopefully they'll get on a plane in China on Wednesday..

My wife uncle who worked 30 plus years at ups. I sent him my tracking number. And he said,
"Cleared Chinese customs and like Elvis, has left the building!"

Well, mine has departed Shanghai twice now ... maybe I am getting 2? :D

No. It had to clear Chinese customs first. It finally left at 512am Chinese local time December 12th

Well just got pretty good news. My wife uncle contacted Louisville Network planning and said those with UPS that left 512am December 12th could get their iMacs on Friday instead!

Would be great to have it before the weekend.

I cancelled my order.

Ordered on 30 November early morning, UK, stock configuration + Pages preinstalled.

I called to change the mouse for a trackpad, making it clear that I only wanted the change if that did not affect delivery date. The rep said she would look into it and confirm with me.

Results: dates slipped from 21 December - 2 January to a generic "January". The iMac with mouse was cancelled, and an iMac with trackpad replaced it in my account.

Bah.

Damn. Wouldn't it been easier just to take mouse to store to change it for trackpad?

Jeez, people!

"We're sorry, but our Order Status services are extremely busy right now. Please try again later."

Stop F5'ing/CMD+R'ing!

Ordered mine at 11:56pm on the 29th. Yup, the 29th. Still stuck in processing land. My AmEx saw the authorization drop off (expected) and it was charged Sunday night. I just called Apple to see what was going on and the guy didn't have a clue how they were being processed. He did say he had taken a lot of calls about it though.
On the plus side, I did get my shipping changed to 2 business day for free since I called.

From Australia, Sydney, ordered it 10min after it went live.
