Sadly I think Apple looks at it differently :( As long as they keep their promise of a 2-3 weeks delivery for shipment they kept their word. Though I´m too about to crawl out of my skin from frustration.

Meanwhile, my 27" i7, 8gb ram, 3tb fusion and 680MX ordered at 12:10am PST on 11/30 is still in "process!"

Trying to be patient but getting pissed now.

Exact same config here, order confirm came one minute later at 12:11am. Still processing. Upside is I don't feel alone! At least we can be bummin' together!

I'm going to start posting how excited I am about still being at Processing. At least it's not going backwards!!! Gotta celebrate the little wins.

For those of you still stuck in "Processing Items":

1) Confirmation email stamped 12:46am PST 11/30
i5, 8GB, 1TB FD, 680

2) Two separate pending CC charges show up around 9am PST 12/11
One for $30 shipping the other for iMac

3) As of 10:53am PST 12/12 still "Processing Items" with delivery estimate of 21-28th.

Must be on the production line having issues or something!

I'm pretty damn happy right now.

in response to my earlier posting I have contacted Apple for third time in regards to faster shipping (due to days off for Holidays really want my first iMac when I have time to learn it) and informed them I now had a picture of someone's order that had shipping via next day which I was previously told was impossible.

After a five minute wait I was told I now have the following:

Available to ship: 3 - 4 Weeks
Delivers Dec 28 - Jan 4 via Next Day Shipping, before noon
Configuration

3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
3TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 680MX 2G GDDR5
MAGIC MOUSE+MAGIC TRACKPAD
Apple WL Kybd (English)+UG
COUNTRY KIT

This didn't change my delivery date which I didn't think it would at this time. Just means it'll get here faster when shipped. ;)

Dec 27 - Jan 3 delivery dates?

Has anyone with a Dec 27- Jan 3 delivery date seen a status change from processing to preparing to ship?

3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
3TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 680MX 2G GDDR5
MAGIC MOUSE+MAGIC TRACKPAD
Apple WL Kybd (English)+UG
COUNTRY KIT

Ordered the afternoon of 11/30

No doubt yours was delayed because of the gift message.
LMFAO
>>So, how long did it take your (everyone who has received or had theirs shipped) to go from Preparing For Shipment to Shipped?<<

Mine changed to "Preparing" last night at around 11pm, just changed to "Shipped" about an hour ago... so about 13 hours between the two for me.
Sweet, hopefully it ships by tomorrow.

Just got notice my CC's been charged. Order date/time: 11/29, 11:56 p.m.
Still "Processing" however.

Likewise, if your's ships first, I'm camping on your doorstep to mug the FedEx guy! :p

I'm so sick of everyone else getting freebies thrown in by Apple to appease the non-existant shipping lag! I mean, trackpads and keyboards were one thing, but they sent you a CAT??? No fair!

Just got off the phone with an Apple rep. She claimed that all orders are now getting the complimentary "free cat" upgrade.

Changed overnight... If the 12-14 hours to ship is accurate, hopefully it'll ship by tonight, which would be Thursday morning in China (from what people say, FedEx has a morning pickup and an evening one. I'm thinking the earliest I'll see it is Monday or Tuesday...

It's weird. I'm completely opposite. My CC hasn't been charged, but my unit is shipped, delivering on Monday. I got the invoice too.
Feels a little bit uncomfortable.

in the UK, estimated delivery 21st-2nd of jan and i called up apple and they said my order number is going to be shipped on the last one tonight... **** yea. :)

Well done, good sir. You got me chuckling on that one.

I actually got a free wireless keyboard from Apple not bc I was complaining but because I was doubting my decision to get a wired keyboard. When I asked if I could change it, they said doing do would lose my place and line and sent me one for free before I even said a word. I actually told them that it wasn't necessary but the lady insisted - who am I to argue? :)

On a happier note, my status FINALLY went into "Preparing for Shipment" just a moment ago. I will sadly admit that I've been refreshing my order page every 10 minutes or so.

I ordered an i5-3.2, 680MX, 1gb Fusion around 12:40am shipping to California. Though it feels like none of these factors really mean much.

For what it's worth, in the past year, I've pre-ordered an iPad3, iPad Mini, and iPhone 5 and my order always went to "Preparing for Shipment" way after most people. In those cases, those were coordinated product launches pegged to a release date so it didn't matter. But in this case, I think I'll end up having to wait til Monday or so to get my computer. Still, I'm thrilled I'll be getting it well ahead of the holidays and now I have time to finally clean up my home office this weekend!
