guess part of the reason for the mix up could be the ordered and cancelled iMac orders.
you previously ordered the i5 and then cancelled it.
After which, you ordered the i7.

hope you will get your replaced unit soon.

Absolutely,,,,,no hard feelings here,,,,,100$ off because i cant make up my mind,,,,,and get to play with this I5 priceless! LOL. Got this too,,,keep me busy while I wait!

What is the average time of waiting after the imac status has change to "preparing for shipping". Just wondering. How long it actually takes to make it and for them to show ship.

Ordered on the 4th and now says preparing for shipment hopefully I get it before the 3rd in order to enjoy it before my break ends!!

Mine changed to preparing for shipment on Christmas Eve (after ordering at 9:25AM on Nov 30th), and it still hasn't shipped. Apple is testing my patience...

My girlfriend surprised me on Christmas that she ordered me a 27" iMac! :D On Christmas morning it was preparing for shipment. Then yesterday, 12/27 it went back to processing. This morning it once again says preparing for shipment. Hopefully this time it ships.

Base 27" with 3TB fusion and magic mouse and trackpad.

BTW She ordered on Dec 3, and the delivery is estimated between Jan 2-8.

My order just changed to preparing for shipment!

Of course who knows when it will be shipped but I ordered on December 4th.

So standard 27" plus fusion drive.

Very concerned by this as the reviews said positive things about the speakers...are you certain your machine is not damaged in some way or need setup?

I'm pretty sure my iMac speakers are fine. Look they aren't totally awful, but as said I am no audiophile and they sound tin can-like with many of my itunes songs, not all, but many. The iMac speakers aren't horrible, but enough that even I noticed, and now have the Bose Companion 20's and it is a huge improvement. If one rarely listens to music through the Imac i would doubt it would matter.

i bought the bose companion 20 .. Great mid range sound Much superior to the Companion 2. I love the sound !! a good buy if it goes on discount of christmas !

Took your advice. You were right on. They sound fantastic for my needs. Didn't really want extra clutter on the desk but they make a huge difference in the sound. Much better. Thanks

To me the speakers are a much needed improvement! I am coming from a late 2010 27" iMac and those speakers had no bass response and sounded very much like they were in a tin can.

One of the first things that struck me was how my new 27" improved on the sound. To me the new speakers sound fuller and have some bass response to them without sounding tinny in any way. Sure, if you want bumping and thumping along with super loud volume then nothing beats hooking up external speakers but for me these speakers are actually a big improvement.
