Apple could simplify consumer iMac lineup to one model, 23”. If you want bigger, there’s iMac Pro.

That's an evil mindset. Apple will more likely to discontinue the Pro model.

I'm not sure how having two sizes of consumer iMacs is complicated 🤔 It would be a shame to have to spend $5000 just to get a 27" screen when the entry point used to be $1800.

Agreed, he will be asked to resign for bringing the nonsense idea of price strategy that sabotage humanity affordability 😡

Most Mac sales come from laptops. One more reason to trim desktop offrings.

About evil mindset: Mac Pro with its display. Now that’s some mindset. Or iPhone 11 and Pro. Need a better camera, prepare to pay three times the SE price.

For real. Oh, you want a 27" screen for your iMac like in the past? Sorry, no can do with the "consumer" model - bring your extra $3200+ over here and get the iMac Pro. What's the issue? LOL!!!

I guess anything is possible, but I seriously doubt that's how it's going to go down unless they radically change the pricing.

But the variety of desktops is probably why they can still shift a few million of them a year. I also expect the 27" iMac is the more popular of the two models currently for sale (and I also expect the iMac Pro does a fair bit better than most believe).

So looking at the details of the EEC filing, it is for "a personal computer of the Apple brand A2330 (macOS software version 10.15)". Previous EEC filings for iMacs used A1 for the serial number prefix with A2 being used for MacBook Pros. I also do not expect ARM to work on macOS 10.15 or earlier, but need macOS 10.16.

As such, I believe A2330 is either a refresh to the 16" MacBook Pro (Comet Lake-H CPUs and maybe MiniLED) or the rumored 14" MacBook Pro replacement for the 13" model.

Expectations for the new iMac:
1) 10th Gen CPU, with 6 core (i5) as the 27 inch lower end default option, and 8 core (i7) as the high end default, 10 core (i9) will be an upgrade option for high end.
2) Lower end 27 inch starts with 8 GB RAM with 256GB SSD, higher end starts with 16GB RAM with 512GB SSD.
3) Thin bezel, Face ID unlocking.

Hope this will be out before the summer student promotion is over. I really want to get an AirPods.
