He said the iMacs and Mac Pros are definitely happening. I imagine his sources at Apple haven't confirmed the cinema displays or new trackpad will definitely be released today. But he has reason to believe they might. We'll see. He does a good job regardless.

I think you should read again :

what with the new Mac Pros (finally, right?), speed-bump iMacs, and the gorgeous new 16:9 27-inch Cinema Display that Apple might hypothetically release tomorrow.

Sounds like a maybe to me. Again, not wanting to doubt your obvious deity or anything, but if that's how he's never wrong, then it's a clever way of never being wrong. :p

Some people just don't get it. Faster FW and USB, CPU and video card equals "ashamed"? Ridiculous.

Ah, you cheat you... you left out the five year-old technology "super" drive, didn't you? Why aren't you touting that? Put a four year old Blu-ray disc in the thing, and what happens? Steve-o appears in a puff of smoke and says "Don't do that!"

And the current case is fantastic, no reason to pander to a handful of fanboys who aren't in the market for it anyway.

I AGREE with you. The current case IS fantastic, because it does make a FANTASTIC cheese grater in pinch. And I think, certainly the most, if not the most, expensive cheese grater in the world, to impress those snobby friends.

My Two Cents

As to what's coming out today:
Mac Pro (90%)
iMac (75%)
Cinema Displays (85%)
Magic Trackpad (95%)
iLife '11 (50%)
Device with a tiny touch screen on (1%)

I think whatever they are creating with the touch screen will be showed off during the September iPod event. But then again, I hope I am wrong.

Also, with the media events, don't get me wrong as much as I love my iPhone, and want an iPad, I wish we could see more Macs at the Stevenotes.
September '09 - iPod's
January '10 - iPad
April '10 - iPhone OS
June '10 - iPhone 4
July '10 - iPhone 4
And, I assume September '10 - iPod's again
Anyway, it should be back up in about half an hour.
I'm excited :D

Sigh yeah so the cinema display is for sure too. It's just the trackpad that is in doubt. He always sends cryptic messages. Apple probably likes his method and that's why he has access. It's very Steve Jobs. And it is very clever.

To be fair, I think he has used his method to cover his ass once or twice in the past when he was wrong. :)

But I have no doubts today.

Just as we're constantly refreshing the store page...
Steve will be constantly updating the Apple Stock, and Bank Account pages.

You have reading comprehension deficit disorder or your native language isn't English. The might hypothetically applies to the entire sentence, including iMac, Mac Pros, the displays and whatever else in the way he phrased it. So if he is wrong, then he can say "Hey, I said might hypothetically!" and never be wrong. ;)

Again, If I were you, I'd expect the worst, so as to avoid disappointment.

Very true :D He has starved everyone for too long and now the masses are ready to gorge themselves on new computers, displays and (potentially) a new gadget.

My predictions:

Mac Pro: 87.53%
iMac: 92.222%
Magic trackpad: -0.3%
Free Winnie The Pooh pdf: 17 + 1⁄9% monthly
Shuffle with 12 pixel retina display: πr2/cos(tan)³³

No, I am trying to overanalyse this morning (thanks to you) while working AND waiting for the product refresh. :)

You are correct. It applies to everything. Therefore iMac, Mac Pro, Cinema Display ARE ALL HAPPENING TODAY. 100% SURE. It is ONLY the trackpad that may or may not happen.

Also honestly, you sound a tad jealous and bitter towards Gruber who knows these things before anyone else. ;) Maybe you are one of those two bit bloggers who has gotten everything wrong....?

Trackpad no idea
Other stuff no idea

Half of me wants it to be just iLife '11...
Or maybe even no new products, just updating the site in general.
You know, as an anti-climax.

Any predictions on when the store will go back up, never mind what they're updating it with?
