And, I really wish Gruber wouldn't spoil every Apple announcement these days. If he didn't, the Retina Display, Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, Multitasking, and countless other apple announcements would have been a surprise to us.

Also imagine if all of a sudden we woke up to new Apple gear tomorrow with barely any rumours/warning? Part of the fun in Apple's launches is the surprise. Gruber sorta ruins that...

Really hoping Steve throws in a free Winnie The Pooh iBook to run on my new Mac Pro!!!! So keen to push those cores to the LIMIT!!!

I have a suggestion then. Don't read a site called MACRUMOURS.

There, now you can be surprised and wake up like a kid on Christmas morning.

He hasn't said much. He has only informed a refresh is coming today. We don't know what the specs will be on the new iMacs and Mac Pros. We don't know the pricing. That's why there's still a lot of buzz and excitement this morning.

My dad will forward me the Apple email he gets informing him of new stuff a couple of weeks after release.

That's how he finds out about new Apple products. Usually contains the phrase "Have you seen this?".

:D

Well store.apple.com is "We'll be back soon" mode so at least we have a good sign that something new/improved should be coming today! :D

We don't know if he's even right. :p

As for pricing, expect a lot of whining from the UK folk.

These are rumors. And let me create another one for you: iPod shuffle with tiny Retina Display. :D

Same from Germany and the rest of EU. I'm really excited, how much the Trackpad will cost.

I am using a Dell U2711 and it integrates wonderfully with my March macbook pro 17. Love having multiple digital input options. dvi x 2, hdmi and displayport. Wide gamut and calibrates to extremely good color accuracy with the macbook pro via the mini displayport to displayport at 2560 by 1440.

If the new Apple 27 inch display isn't wide gamut, matte optional, multiple digital inputs and price competitive only a fool would buy it. I paid less than $580 for the Dell when on recent promotion.

where did you buy it for so cheap? It's $1,099 on dell.com...

No, Gruber is never wrong.

When he reveals a rumor like this, you can count on it being a sure thing. He's been right with incredible specificity for many years now. He has an incredible, ultra-reliable source deep within Apple.

So it's not the fun guessing game that Macrumors provides.

It's like reading a website with a bunch of people speculating on a new movie, versus reading actual spoilers. Gruber's ultra-consistent accuracy and specificity makes him into a spoiler, not a rumor-mongerer.

And yes, I realize I sound like a huge dork writing about being spoiled for a product release. I am going to find something better to get excited about now

Let's see, markets are around 1.55 USD per GBP, now let's ignore all those who whine about the prices with VAT included and I'm guessing we're going to see around 1.70 USD per GBP.

That would be great news for the UK, it would make the new Macs loads cheaper. ;)

It's not going to happen though. You haven't added Apple tax, you've taken it off. :D

He didn't quote a price...

Compare that 1,099$ to what Apple is asking for the LED 24" though and it's a real bargain.

re the $580 price. It was a recent promo in Australia where I paid around $650 Australian Dollars. I have never tracked US promotions for Dell but they tend to be as good if not better than any we see here. 3 year no quibble exchange policy also ;)
