I was debating between the 4.7" and 5.5" iPhone, and while I like the few extra features of the iPhone Plus, I just cannot justify paying $299 for a base 16GB phone. I know I would need more, so now I am up to at least $399? I can't believe I am the only person thinking the same thing...

I think it should have stayed as one phone. The whole two sizes line doesn't make much sense in the future. Cost wise, well it's Apple. Like you, I cannot justify paying extra for a 5.5" so I'll get the 4.7".

it makes more sense to have two sizes than to have multiple colors... the sizes help apple go after customers wanting the larger screen.
Samsung has shown this works with the NOTE series ... and i bet apple is making more money doing it...

I will order the 5.5 because with the new keyboards and other updates I want a larger phone.....

399 for a ****ing phone at 64gb is INSANE.

I was upgrading to that until the price came out. **** apple. Been with them since the very first iPhone and never seen them pull a stupid stunt like this under jobs.

Makes no sense.

I agree, I think for the first time, I am going to try out Android. Apple are getting too money motivated for my liking.

I agree. I can't believe they raised the price for a 16 GB phone. Well for the 6+ that is.

Sapphire?

I didn't hear anything about sapphire... just glass. What type of glass is on the iPhone6? I see that topic was glossed over.

I think they should have made both new phones start with 32GB, or at least the 5.5 with 32GB. We all know that an extra 16GB of memory costs them almost nothing, yet would make people seem like's worth the $100 premium for the extra phone along with the other new features.

Probably the normal glass, if it was sapphire they would definitely boast about it.

I think Samsung might just be laughing all the way to the bank now with the Note 4, it has a 5.7" QHD screen, 3GB of memory, 32GB base and is smaller than the 6 Plus, and the price is much cheaper aswell.

Really, what is the price of the Note 4? I didn't think they had announced that yet.

It be £600 rrp at launch, so around £550 to £570 simfree, and within a couple of months the price will drop.

The 6 Plus will be over £700 for the 64GB version in the UK

Hilarious. Please, go on.

And it's worth exactly what it costs.

Well with the landscape UI and tablet interface in apps it kind of replaces the need for an iPad (especially the mini) so I you have a little more money to spend and just get the 64GB model.

I too wish the base model was 32GB though.

Are you serious dude? The iPhone 6 plus is a premium phone, no one is forcing you to buy it. Apple was kind enough to update the 32gb model to 64gb, i don't see what your whining about.
