Yeah... it's a phone.

399 for a ****ing phone at 64gb is INSANE.
I was upgrading to that until the price came out. **** apple. Been with them since the very first iPhone and never seen them pull a stupid stunt like this under jobs.
Makes no sense.

The 64GB iPhone 6 is the same price as the 32GB iPhone 5s was. Twice the storage and a larger screen for the same price.
The 64GB iPhone 6 Plus is the same price as the 64GB iPhone 5s, but with an even larger screen.
In other words, if someone was already going to pay an extra $100 for the 32GB (iPhone 5s), they can now get twice the storage for the same price.
This is a win for customers.
That's without contract.Such as $399 for the 8GB iPhone 1?
That's without contract.
Upon launch yes. Apple cut prices by $200 in just 2 months or so and gave early adopters $100 GC, iirc. You're right but it was $499 for 4GB and $599 for 8GB. Bad source.
That makes no sense.

Probably a lot. It might just be a few dollars extra per phone if only looking at it in a vacuum, but it would change peoples' buying decisions. Starting off at 32GB would satisfy too many peoples' needs, so the higher storage, higher margin options will sell less.
Apple can't be stupid with their pricing. They can't give away something for free what people are willing to pay up for, that's leaving money on the table.
We keep paying premiums for storage space for no reason other than because Apple can charge it. Do you realize 16GB has been an option for every single iPhone and the base model going on FIVE years now?
Sure you get all that extra stuff, but why wouldn't you. You're paying for today's tech and shouldn't be comparing
I didn't hear anything about sapphire... just glass. What type of glass is on the iPhone6? I see that topic was glossed over.

I agree, I think for the first time, I am going to try out Android. Apple are getting too money motivated for my liking.
I was debating between the 4.7" and 5.5" iPhone, and while I like the few extra features of the iPhone Plus, I just cannot justify paying $299 for a base 16GB phone. I know I would need more, so now I am up to at least $399? I can't believe I am the only person thinking the same thing...
Ion-strengthened glass.
Love how everyone is complaining about the price. Come to Canada where the 128GB iPhone 6 plus is $1200 with taxes. Meaning it's more expensive then the 11" MacBook Air and only $20 cheaper then the 13" MacBook Air. Pretty crazy and why I've made the move to android, much cheaper.
Now the dust has settled I think everybody screaming 'no way!' and the OP must realise they jumped the gun somewhat. We have a 64GB iPhone for the price of a 32GB and a larger display iPhone priced slightly more to cover the jump in size. I think iPhone consumers have had a really good deal out of this and will be interested to hear from those who think it is bad and have their logic explained.
First off, the phone is not $299, it is $749. $299 is the subsidized price as you overpay for your monthly service. I think the pricing is fair. If ponying up the extra $100 to get 64GB on a device you use all day everyday is causing you this much stress, I would spend more time worrying about your income, and how to increase that.
