I didn't hear anything about sapphire... just glass. What type of glass is on the iPhone6? I see that topic was glossed over.

Likely the same old glass as nothing was said and you know they would have said something!

All these stupid rumors! LOL!

Now were is that jerk who bet everyone there was no 5.5 phone?:p

I agree the base storage should be 32 GB, at least for the 6+. We seem to be in the minority though. People want more RAM, bigger screens, but no way do people want increased storage.

Gorilla Glass 3

Probably the normal glass, if it was sapphire they would definitely boast about it.

Would be the best bet then. That is disappointing. I was hoping for OIS, or Sapphire, or HD audio just so I could say... wow, cool... but as I had feared, the iPhone6-4.7 is really just an iPhone 5S V2. lol. Is it true Pay is only in the USA? I am struggling to want the iPhone6-4.7.

If that is true, why did Apple introduce 128GB for both phones?

$299 is just WAY to much for a 16GB phone IMO

Sorry just trying to decipher all the mixed information around the net. I take it the 32gb has gone, so how much is the 64gb 4.7 inch phone likely to be? I have a 32gb iPhone 5 and am a little concerned I am going to be paying significantly more for an iPhone with appropriate storage. I have a 16gb ipad and it was a mistake as apps just fill it up. I'll need the next option which I assume is the 64gb.

399 for a ****ing phone at 64gb is INSANE.

I was upgrading to that until the price came out. **** apple. Been with them since the very first iPhone and never seen them pull a stupid stunt like this under jobs.

Makes no sense.

You do realize the 64GB iPhone 5s was $399 too correct? So was the iPhone 5 and 4s. Just this time around your also getting a bigger screen.

I guess I shouldn't say that people don't want increased storage, just that most people seem to want a base model of 16 GB and don't want to have to pay some nominal cost for an increase. They'll go over a million reasons why Apple will never increase the base storage from 16 GB. I really don't understand it, but I gave up on that one last year.

Myself I want the increased storage. I currently have two iPhones (personal and work) and they are both 64 GB.

I always get the 64GB version, so the price reduction at 64GB is nice. Also, a 128 version is now an option...not that I'll get it...but it's an option!

Definitely. I've been getting the 64 GB model with the 4S and 5s so I am happy to see the price has been reduced. I was let down last year at the expense of the 5s 64 GB model.

Are you serious dude? The iPhone 6 plus is a premium phone, no one is forcing you to buy it. Apple was kind enough to update the 32gb model to 64gb, i don't see what your whining about.

But not 'kind' enough to upgrade the 16 model to 32

I think Samsung might just be laughing all the way to the bank now with the Note 4, it has a 5.7" QHD screen, 3GB of memory, 32GB base and is smaller than the 6 Plus, and the price is much cheaper aswell.

And it's probably going to cost $299 also... Note has always been ~$100 more on-contract than the Galaxy S line

I've seen so many stupid posts, good god.

#1: 64gb is cheaper than it was last year
#2. you get 128gb on the 6/6+ for the same price you got 64gb last year
#3. Apple is just one of dozens of manufacturers releasing 16gb phones

I'm so happy that the 5.5" is REAL and is releasing at the SAME TIME.. I'm dancing over here! :D:D:D

The slide specifically said ion treated glass. That still leaves the possibility of sapphire and they're being coy, or just another refinement to the gorilla glass variant they use.

Either way its an improvement.

Well with the landscape UI and tablet interface in apps it kind of replaces the need for an iPad (especially the mini) so I you have a little more money to spend and just get the 64GB model.

I too wish the base model was 32GB though.

iPad is a whole different device I don't think iPhone 6+ can deliver the same user experience
If an iPhone 6+ is enough then you simply don't need a table.
Besides, I guess most iPhone 6+ user will buy an iPad, maybe not the mini.

And 16GB for iPhone 6+ is ridiculous, since it's $299
They should have started from 32GB, at least for iPhone6+

I'm in agreement with the op on this one, its really a chinsy move to go from 16gb to 64gb, the idea is to force people to pay for 64gb because no one wants a 16gb phone nowadays, plus larger app sizes with higher res. Business is formed by the customer, so dont think apple "was doing us a favor, or is so nice to us" they did it to generate more revenue and make more money. 32gb shouldve been standard, you cant keep using the same pricing as 5 years ago when technology halves in prices every year

I was going to get the 32GB 4.7" thinking it'll be $299
So I see it has a heck of a lot more than I need for the same price

Would've been nice to have 32GB the starting point but if you don't like the 16GB then just don't get it...

Plus you get a bigger phone = more material. Can't expect it to be lower in price

I think they should have made both new phones start with 32GB, or at least the 5.5 with 32GB. We all know that an extra 16GB of memory costs them almost nothing, yet would make people seem like's worth the $100 premium for the extra phone along with the other new features.
For the iPhone 6 Plus, I agree. They should have gone with 32GB minimum. Particularly if app sizes increase due to new assets for the 1080p display.

So, what 64GB (on board storage) Android phone are you going to get?

The One Plus One has 64GB of onboard storage and costs just $350 with no contract.

----------

Perhaps the rumors about supply being constrained are really true and Apple has decided on a hirer price point to dissuade people from buying the iPhone 6plus right now.

It didn't take long for Walmart, BestBuy and Target to start to sell the iPhone 5c at $100 off. I expect that we will start to see all types of "non-sale" sale in the coming months.

I love all the fanboys defending everything apple does. If you question apple you're an idiot!!!!
I'm using a HTC One M8 and love it. Was going to get an iPhone 6+ but after seeing the same old 1gb RAM, no new features, looks like garbage, and costs ridiculous amounts of money, I'm going to get a Note 4. And don't call me a cheapwad, I've been buying phones full retail for longer than you knew it was possible. Last 3 phones I bought full retail was a 5s, HTC One M8, and GS3. I have no problem spending the money when its worth it. This phone is not worth it.

Where are you reading that the iPhone only has 1GB of RAM? I know people have been talking about it here all day, but I haven't seen any proof of this.

I love my M7, but the camera totally blows.

The fact that it isn't being advertised as more than 1 GB should be proof enough. If they increased it, they'd have mentioned it.

I don't think 5.5" is a reasonable phone size, it like put ipad mini beside your ear when call.
