Does anybody know how many days it was before the first presale iPhone 4's got delivered?

I am curious how much of a line there will be at storefront on the 14th??

They deliver on launch day the 14th. There will be lines.
 
I didn't order though Apple last year for the 4 I used AT&T, but do you have to have a credit card linked to your apple account to preorder from apple?
 
I am getting mine from AT&T. Should I preorder online or try to get it in the store on the 14th? I just want to have it by next Friday.

2 days before launch, and there will be at least 150+ people at apple stores. usually about 25+ at AT&T/VERIZON stores.

I would try and preorder, have getting it at the store on the 14th your LAST decision. lol

I really hope it's available for in-store pickup. I work 9-5 and it's much more convenient for me to stop by an Apple Store on the way home to grab my phone and go as opposed to having it delivered and hoping that some neanderthal doesn't grab the box off my porch knowing that it's "iPhone delivery day" after the FedEx guy drops it off.

Question for those who have preordered before.

1) Are you charged right away or when the phone actually ships?
 
So is it confirmed that it will be at 3:00 EST? I really hope I can pre-order it this year. It was pretty easy to pre-order the 3GS a few years back.

If anything, can I still reserve in-store?
 
FWIW, I ordered my iPhone 4 from AT&T at about 4 AM central time. I had no problem with servers crashing or anything like that at all.

I also received it a day before the official launch. I think that was so that the activation servers were not overloaded on a single launch day.
 
I hope I'm able to grab a screen protector/case off the Apple website along with the phone. I do remember Apple stopped selling screen protectors about a year ago though, so..

Has anyone ordered and had their iPhone shipped to their workplace?

Since it would be shipped during a weekday, it'd be easier for me to get the phone at work. But not sure if the Billing Address and Delivery Address would matter. I heard it does for some cases, but not that I have experienced so far and I just wanted to double check.

Last year, I had it shipped all the way across the country. I live on the West coast and had to be in NY last year for a wedding -- the day the iPhone4 was due to be shipped, so I actually had it shipped to my hotel in NY. Pretty risky, but it paid off.
 
Will it require a signature or get dropped off? I work the whole delivery time range.
 
Can I get the phone shipped to a different address from my billing address? I'm away at college and it would take too long to ship it to my house and then back to here.

Considering that, should I use AT&T or Apple? I prefer Apple because there's more of a chance of it getting here on time. Or I could just pick up at local Apple Store a day later...

I don't think it needs a signature.... fedex brought my buddies to the next door neighbors house last year!!

1) Obviously, it's the billing, not shipping address.

2) Read a few posts up; doesn't really matter. Just preorder it whenever. I'm probably just going to go into the store when they open tomorrow and do it.

It isn't like you're going to be waiting 4 weeks if you wait a few hours. This is the 4S launch and half of the people aren't going to break contracts to upgrade internals in an iPhone.

thats how it worked last year... my friend had to have her mom ship it to her at school once it came in, because they wouldn't ship it to her house at school because her card was addressed to her parents house
