Isn't this the same analogy of women purchasing those $3000-$6000 Christian Loubitains shoes? A few years ago there was a signing by the designer for his shoes that drew a crowd of women at the mall. Women were actually spending this kind of cash for shoes.

I thought $600-$900 for Salvatore Ferragamo's mens shoes were expensive enough, but geez $3000 for shoes. There better be a red carpet everywhere I walk. :D

I would never spend more than $1000 on anything like that. Only on ACTUALLY IMPORTANT things. This is why people cannot retire on time. You can't just go around blowing that kind of cash on stupid stuff.

I maintain rich people's private jets for a living. Many other people derive a decent living from the whims of affluence. Why bite the hand that feeds you, or in my case me and my family? If you feel they should feed the poor, then get a job that they're willing to pay big bucks to you for. Then you can feed the needy with their money.

Anyone who buys it just simply pays a premium for the design and material of the case. Just look how expensive for those phones made by Vertu. Functionally, they run on Android and I doubt they're better than the latest Android phones out there on the market. In addition whoever buys those phone is unlikely to upgrade their phone every year.

As long as they can afford the case, it does not matter how expensive it is. Why bother being jealous?

The cases shown on the link are Titanium. That may account for the high price.

Sweet. Ordered the white gold for myself and the regular gold for the wife. Thanks OP!

that's how money moves dude. wouldn't make sense having millions if you didn't had stuff to buy with that kind of money.

"This is why people can't retire on time." Assume much?

"ACTUALLY IMPORTANT things" is arbitrary and egocentric.

I actually like the look of the case. I'd drop $100 on it but no way would I drop $2000-$3000 on it.

I saw a guy using this 5S when I was in line on launch Day

The main thing I come away with is that they put some serious hours into the design and production of that G logo.

The thing with mobile phones is that, with the exception of something like Vertu, people who have medium incomes can afford to get exactly as good a phone as a billionaire. So I guess people with ridiculous amounts of money have to differentiate with the cases they use. Seems idiotic to me, but maybe if I had billions I would feel differently.

Nothing like a person who owns near a $1000 phone, lives in California, and is worried about the hungry people!:p

I live cali now...where gas taxes are going up by $.20 to $.75 in January, where the government took ownership by force of every house in my neighborhood (every house less than 10 year old and now to be demolished), where we use drought aid money to build a dam to save a fish unaffected by the drought, and in the process, cut the water supply to the South, where I came from Washington state to here (military), downgrade my house size by 50% and go from a $68 electric bill to $400, where my car is considered a pollutant even though the air coming out is cleaner than going in, where as there are crop fires every spring, whereas I cannot own a firearm in this state because I'm in the military and have to trial sleep aids due to crew rest issues...this state could actually be worse.

Take a look at Reynoldsburg, Ohio; I have a friend there who just pulled her kids out of school because they are required to go to class and sit...no teachers because they're not enough. She described it as a prison for the kids right now.

Thank you for serving. I'm sorry that your state is not treating you well.
