Right back where I started...
June Challenges are set! Good running in May.

It came down to the wire for the grudge match between Twood and Qcassidy and the winner ended up being Twood this month 207.94 to QCassidy's 207.2 - only having vision to one of the runners leads me to respect QCassidy's numbers when his lifetime average is 7:08 a mile so he is running all out - I do not know what Twood's numbers are since it is closed - I do get the feeling that at 11:59 though these guys were checking to see who would flinch last. Nice month for sure guys - over 200 miles is something I could never do - or would be interested in doing..;) .

rickvanr took 3rd with his personal best 153.13. Keep it up - everyone is getting in better shape I can see it

.

We have the standard (give the trophy to twood or QCassidy challenge
rolleyes.gif
) - most miles in the month. Desmonator is out to an early lead for June popping down 12.75 before I got up today - Aussies...and it looks like it was multiple runs as well. *Llyod* is also on the Aussie train this morning - can they hold the lead? Stay tuned.

The 1 mile, 5k and 10k are set for best time by end of June.

These following challenges are still open to anyone:
  • 100 miles by end of 2007
  • 250 miles by end of 2007
  • 500 miles by end of 2007
As always if anyone is interested in joining up to any challenge please put it in the thread or PM me with what you would like to join and your nike+ id. I try to carry over all the id's from one month to the next - if one drops out here or there it was not intentional - typo's happen.

See everyone out there running.

2 runs for the day.
The challenge starts here at 2pm on the 1st.
So while you were all sleeping, I hit the street at 2:01PM for a 12.11km run. Couple of hours rest then back out for another.
Could only mange 8.4km on the second run. The legs are feeling a BIT stiff now:( .

I'm going after Qcassidy and twood......someone has to:p
I see Qcassidy declined the June challenge.
I work with *Lloyd*........he wants to beat me, so some long running days ahead.

thanks again ziwi, for setting up the challenges again, and the report of course. good job every one and keep it up ;)

nice, 2 runs already  glad to hear that you're coming after us. the more competition, the better

Good stuff - the weather is much better there too - too hot over here.

Good luck - I saw QC is out as well - I wonder why.

Brrrrrrrrr too cold for me.
Give me summer 12 months a year.

some hours later.............
just had another big run.
The interval training i did last month looks like it is paying off.....(Hill Repeats)
just ran 13.4 km @ an average of 6:44 per kilometre and my career average continues to drop, down by 2 seconds in the last 2 days.
career average now at 7:24 per KM. Think it was about 8:10 per KM once.

I have indeed declined the July challenge, for personal reasons. Best of luck to all of you in this month's running, though. :)

Sorry to hear that. Hope everything is OK.
I was going to out distance you and twoodcc this month.
Maybe another month (if I ever recover from this month)

i like a challenge, and i'm going to put up a fight, but i'm not gonna lie, last month was tough. it was the most miles i've ever done in a month before. so we'll see how this month goes

It's tough for me already....4 days in:D
Only 26 to go:p

Wow.. how have I missed this thread this long? I guess I don't come into the CD forum too often but this is very cool.

I'd have to buy a nike+ setup but still... very neat.

So I think I'm getting a nano, and a Nike thing today. I don't actually have any running shoes so is it worth getting the actual Nike shoes or is some alternative better with some interesting way to use the part that goes in the shoe?

Yeh... I guess that's what I don't like about it. It's a $30 pedometer that you have to buy special shoes to use... I dunno, maybe I'm too high tech but if I'm going to track my running I want the accuracy of gps built in.

You don't need the shoes.
You can cut a hole in your shoes, like nike have, or
buy a small pouch that clips on your laces, or
make a pouch for your laces.

I use small plastic bags with a.......? zip lock (not sure if that's the correct term) and thread my laces through the bag. It's a very secure method.

Try this site for info on how to make a pouch and shoe hacks

When you get them send a PM with your nike username to ziwi for invites to the macrumors challenges.

That's not a bad idea. I already strap one of these to my shoe to keep my ID in:

I could fit the pedometer in it also I'm sure...

I think the only stipulation is that the show wallet has to be tight - no floppy attachment.

Twood - what did you run a marathon last night? Miles out of nowhere - sheesh - at least 748s will have some competitin then.

not quite a marathon.....i got in 20 miles though. (not all at one time) it was a mix of walking/running....and take it from me, 20 miles a day will kill you, no matter how you get the miles

I just got some of the Nike+ shoes... I didn't have any running shoes anyway. They were only $85. Time to run I guess...

glad to hear it :) some of the nike+ shoes aren't too bad. i'm sure you'll be fine. good luck ;)

Well, I'm going to have my new (refurbished) nano and all the nike iPod stuff at the end of the week, and I'd like to run with y'all, but I am really out of shape (6'8" 300 even) and seeing these guys going more in two days that I'll probably go in a whole month is a bit daunting. Maybe I oughta' be looking for the chubby checkers league lol.

hey, don't be shy....we'd love you have you. just b/c a few try to run 10 miles a day, doesn't mean everyone does. if you're looking to get in shape, this is a great motivator. there are people from all speeds, so don't worry about it.
